-Because they think that they're a grown up now!.
-They either don't know how to, don't have a spare, or it's just awkward if they tell their friends, "Hold on, gotta go to the bathroom, on my period!."

1!. because girls want to be what they consider " woman" and its a big thing in a girls life, so they are excited ( and dont relize what a pain it is !) to get it
