Question: Is the birth control patch dangerous!? And is nuvaring equally dangerous since it's similar!?
My gyno said she stopped prescribing "the patch" b/c of dangerous side effects!.!.!. I'm not sure if that's just her or if it has been taken off the market!.
She suggested nuvaring, which concerns me b/c it seems to be the same basic principle as the patch!.!. so is it equally dangerous!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

The hormones were what was dangerous in the patch!. Each birth control, even each different pill, has different hormones!.
But as far as I know, there is still a risk of clot and stroke with all forms of birth control and smoking is not suggested!. I beleive there was an even higher risk with the patch!.
I am on nuvaring now and love it, I would definitly suggest going on it!. Just so you know, I can't feel it normally, but during sex it did hurt me, and I had to take it out!. This is ok for 3 consecutive hours!. I can't find any information about how many hours in a 24 hour period of time, so I simply just say 3 hours in a 24 hour period of time!.

i cannot speak to the nuva ring but the patch is very dangerous!. my doctor was going to prescribe me the patch back in april but she did some research and discovered there were lots of safety recalls on it and gave me yaz instead!. im sure exactly what the recalls were i didnt need to look it up i heard all i needed to when she said recalls!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
The patch seems to be not as consistent, and it's hard to keep the darn thing on!. Did not work for me!. If it doesn't stay on, how safe is it for protection!?
The nuva ring seems to be much more convenient to use, and I never had any side effects using it!. My Doctor says it's safer than the BC pills!.

well out of everything there is always been side effects!.
talk to your doctor and see what you believe is best for you!.
for example i chose the depo provera wich is a shot you take in your abdomen every 12 weeks!.

All birth control has the same side effects, and all are 99% effective!.
