Answers:
Any "fishy" smell from the vagina with or without discharge points to bacterial vaginosis (BV)!. A fishy smell is not normal and should be evaluated by a gynecologist!. They will do a simple swab and examine it under a microscope and tell you before you leave the office if that is in fact what it is!. If positive, they will write you a prescription for an antibiotic!. BEWARE: If you are prone to yeast infections from taking antibiotics, you may want to ask the doctor for a prescription for oral Diflucan!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

First, just to make sure, get tested for STD's!.!.!. Okay, after that, you should know that your hormone levels drop at the end of your menstrual cycle, which changes the pH of your vagina!. That creates a favorable living environment for yeast and bacteria!. Some women get an infection every month prior to their menses!. This resolves with the menses (your body clears it out), and then you start fresh at the beginning of your cycle when your hormones and vag pH return to normal!. In general, it sounds like you are dealing with a bacterial vaginosis!.!.!. bacterial infections have an odor and a homogenous appearance like pudding!. Yeast infections are odorless and have a cottage cheese like appearance!. If you symptoms do not resolve with your menses, you should see your MD!.!.!.but you should go anyway to be checked for an STD!. Yogurt and cottage cheese (or anything with live active cultures by mouth) may help you to have favorable vag flora to prevent infections in the future!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
