I just had a miscarriage...Do I need to get a D&C?!

Question: I just had a miscarriage!.!.!.Do I need to get a D&C!?
Below is my sonogram result!.

The uterus is retroverted with regular contour and homogenous myometrium!.
There are no myometrial masses seen!.
The cervix is closed and homogenous!.
The endometrium id heterogenous probably due to blood/blood clots and retained products of conception!.
The endomyometrial interface is intact!.
The previously seen intrauterine gestational sac is no longer noted!.
Both ovaries are lateral to the uterus and contain follicles!.
There are no adnexal masses seen!.
There is no free fluid in the cul-de-sac!.

Answers:
I'm sorry for your m/c!. I'm no doctor, but it looks like: Your uterus and ovaries are normal (no physical abnormalities or cysts that would require treatment)!. It looks like the m/c was incomplete and hasn't yet shed everything!. There was no evident damage done to your uterus by the miscarriage and your ovaries are already producing follicles which will become mature eggs for your next cycle (this is normal also)!. As long as you have a period that finishes shedding the previous lining, you shouldn't need a d/c!. But if the sonogram was taken after bleeding was finished, you probably will!. Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i'm sure your physician who ordered the sonogram will explain it to you; but from what i see above, you may have "retained products of conception"; in that case, you will need a D&C to remove that tissue; otherwise, it sounds like a normal sonogram

"products of conception" would be some of the placenta that was forming; the fact that the gestational sac is no longer noted means there is no longer a developing fetusWww@Answer-Health@Com

You will notice the fourth line!.!.!."The endometrium is heterogenous probably due to blood/bloodclots and RETAINED products of conception!.
In other words, yes, you need a D&C to clean out your uterus!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, you will require a D&C!. Call your OB/GYN today!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
