Birth Control? Is this normal for a 15 year old?!
Question: Birth Control!? Is this normal for a 15 year old!?
I had severe pains in my lower abdomen and very irregular periods!. I went to the doctor and she did an ultrasound and found that I had had a cyst on my ovary that had ruptured!. I also had I very thick lining around my uterus!. She put me on birth control to help regulate my periods!. She assured me that this is normal!. But I am not really sure!. I am embarrassed to talk about anything personal like that!. I took me about 3 months tell my mom that I had been having problems!.
How can I overcome my embarrassment!? And also has anyone else gone through this!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

I know many young women who have had ovarian cysts!. It's not because of anything you did; nothing to be embarrassed about!.
You don't need to talk about it with anyone if you don't want to (except I think telling your mom was a good thing)!. It's no ones business!.
And being on birth control pills to regulate your period is also very, very normal!. Since I'm older than you (nineteen) most of the women I know are on it for actual birth control, but when I was in middle and high school I knew girls on it for that reason!. Yes this is normal!. The hormones in the pills balance out your own which stabilises your periods!. I was put on pills to overcome my heavy periods!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
