Question about my periods + pads, ladies only please?!

Question: Question about my periods + pads, ladies only please!?
I started my periods 4 years ago when I was 14, but had quite a few problems "down there" and I have only recently started having periods again!.

Last month, I had a very long, heavy period which was absolutely terrible!.
I have started again today and I am worried this week's period will be just as bad - however, I am at college all week and I don't feel comfortable changing my sanitary towel in the toilets (honestly, people kick open the doors and look over the gap at the top)!.

My question is:
Is it okay to wear two pads, 1 on top of the other!?
I am just so afraid of leaking, last month it was okay because I was at home!.

Thanks!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Sure, why would there be a problem with that!? Just don't wear tight clothes that would make it obvious!. I'm not sure if it'll help, though!. Even if you completely fill the top pad, they usually have a waterproof bottom so I think you'd just start "overflowing" at the top!.!.!. I don't know if you're already talking to a doctor, but you might ask one if you might have PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome)!. Two of my sisters have that and had really heavy, irregular periods like you describe!. It's not that hard to treat but can make your life really difficult if you don't treat it, so look into that if you haven't already!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

why dont you go to your doctor and see if he/she can help you out!? But different people have different periods and sometimes its light weight and sometimes its heavy but in my opinion pads are not comfortable why dont you try tanpons , they are way better and you feel more secure and you wount have a problems about leaking or anything!. and like when you have a heavy weight period there are tampons that are extra obsorvent!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

this won't make a difference as the sticky bit on the bottom will not let any blood through!. try a tampon then a pad so when it is full it goes on to the pad!. i do this at night and it works!. if there are any public loos near the school you could say your popping out for lunch during dinner time and go then!?

yes, it's ok to wear one on top of the other!.!.i've done it a number of times !.!.!.for the same reason!.!.i just felt uncomfortable changing it in the restrooms at school!.!.but it would still leak a bit sometimes !.!.when i had heavy periods so it depends on how long u'll b at school!.!.u probably need to change it stillWww@Answer-Health@Com

well i wait when that happens and i think that is a good idea about using two pads but there are also thick pads or also where a pad and if you can wear a long shirt to cover your butt or where ever it could show!. Hope this helpsWww@Answer-Health@Com

if you need to yes you can wear two!. you can also start using tampoons and that can really help you out!. its okay to change the pad at school all the girls go threw this problemWww@Answer-Health@Com

You would need to use the night time ones, as putting one on top of the other is useless, as the one on top has a waterproof backing!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

You should see a doctor, because your period shouldn't be that heavy!. Try birth control pills!. They make your periods lighter and less frequent!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I cannot see how one on top of the other is going to help, are the toilets that bad!? Wear wings and change frequently!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

u would feel like u were wearing a nappy if u wore 2 at the same time!. Use a staff toilet and if you get caught expain that you needed more privacy!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

even if u wear one on top of the other u can leak to the sides or the back mostly if ur sitting down Www@Answer-Health@Com

You could wear a super plus tampon and a heavy pad!.!.!.!.!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

thats awful that they are still behaving like children at college! poor you!

i would wear a tampon and a towel!. that way you can just whip the tampon out and leave the pad on and it will take seconds!. as for two pads!.!. i have never tried it myself, my only concern would be when the first one was full it may leak out the sides and avoid the one underneath due to the waterproof sticky bit, in which case it could just run down your leg!

if you cant use tampons couldnt you ask to be excused halfway through a class to use the loo!. that way most will also be in classes and hopefully you can deal with things in private!. keep a towel in your pocket so know one knows where you are going!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think you could wear two pads that might help!. I would use pads with wings, cause that can really help stop leaking, and also I would suggest putting the pads staggered, I mean put the one on the bottom further towards the back of your panties, and the one on top further to the front (or vice versa) because that can really help stop leaking through to your pants when you sit down or when your panties shift around!. I'd also suggest, if you're really worried about leaking through, and if your flow is that heavy, wear dark black pants and then if you do leak, it wont show and you can just wash them when you get home!. Hope I helped, and good luck:)Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's not ideal to wear 2 towels - the waterproof backing would stop it leaking through efficiently to the second pad!. Wearing an extra pair of large pants can help!.
If you're afraid of leaking then you really need to change your pad during the day!.
Perhaps you could take one day off college as it will only be really heavy for one day!. After that, can you leave college at lunch time and find somewhere else to go to the toilet in your lunch break (eg a nearby supermarket or pub!.
If there is such a problem with the toilets, can you tell someone in charge!. You could even write an anonymous letter if you don't want your teachers to know it's you!. Maybe the teachers could target this problem as you can't be the only one who feels uncomfortableWww@Answer-Health@Com

Try wearing Kotex Overnight or Always Overnight or Maximum Protection!. These pads are thick and give you a LOT of extra coverage!. I have had problems with very heavy periods too on and off, and these pads work great!. I wouldn't use two pads, that's just going to be uncomfortable and won't help you out too much!.

As far as people breaking in on you when you are changing pads - that is totally immature for "college" age adults!. There's not much you can do to prevent that, but then again, who wants to watch someone else change a bloody pad!? It's they who have the problem!. So, just go about your business like you normally would, and don't get stressed!. Getting upset over obnoxious people like that only make having your period worse!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
