Do you have access to your doctor's office number!? If so, try calling ahead of time and tell them what's going on!. When you go in for your appointment, your doctor or a nurse can politely ask your mom to leave during your appointment!. They've been trained to deal with these situations so they'll know what to do!.

I actually had to kinda do this a few months ago when I went to my doctor!. (This was the first appointment I'd had since becoming sexually active!.) My mom would never actually come inside the room with me but I was nervous because the office walls are so thin and you can always hear what the patient in the room next to you is saying!. I was first taken into a smaller room where a nurse took my blood pressure and asked me some basic questions, one of them being, "Are you sexually active!?" As soon as I nodded she closed the door and was like, "K and your mom doesn't know!? You're gonna get birth control, right!?" She then wrote a little note on my sheet so that my doctor would know now to say anything too loudly when my mom was around!. So hopefully you'll have cool nurses/doctors too! Just keep in mind that they're there to help - they want you to be completely honest so that they can help you out in whatever way possible!. Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I would just put it, "Mom, I think I can handle this on my own!." You are growing up and if you are going to a gyno you are old enough to go in alone!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Just tell her that you feel more comfortable without her, and that you need to get used to talking to the doctor alone!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Your OBGYN will probably tell your mom to leave the room, anyways because there are questions he/she needs to ask and cannot legally say in front of your mom!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I would just tell her that you feel more comfortable if she was not in there!. The doc is not allowed to tell her anything either!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
