Question: Is it worse to have a Male GYN!?
I have this new GYN and he's a male!. I'm nervous because I've usually had women GYNs in the past!. Should I be nervous!? Is it worse to have a Male GYN!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

personally, I like the male doctors better!. I've gone to a few female doctors and they were rough and didn't seem to care!. They were rushing!. But it's up to you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Male GYNs are just as qualified to treat you as female GYNs!. It's all about what you're comfortable with!. The most important thing is to find a doctor you're comfortable talking with about any issues you have, etc!. If you're very nervous simply because the doc is male, I'd suggest finding a female doc next time!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I have seen a male for the last 5 years!. At first it was awkward!. When he did the breast exam, I started laughing uncontrollably, and he just said "Oh that must have tickled!" But I go to him because he has 35 years of experience!. If you are more comfortable seeing a woman, just stay with a female MD!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I go to a male!. There is no difference!. At my first appt with a male GYN I was a little nervous, but just think of how many women they see a day!. He was professional and I have never felt uncomfortable!.

OMG, I love this !?!. I have always had women to!. When i started having server pelvic pain i was referred to a male OB and i have to say he is the best doctor i have ever had!. he is so caring and just a great doctor!. I to was nervous!. I have found that with my new doctor, he explains things better and is more apt to listen to you!. In the pass my female doctors were not as nice!. She wouldn't run important test!. Now im sure that this didn't have to do with what sex they are, and im sure there are good and bad doctors on both sides!. Just give him a chance, i know i didn't want to but it could be the best thing you have ever done!. And just remember is a Doctor and he is doing a job that is embarrassing for you both!. And as far as being nervous, i can't tell you either way!. That is a feeling and we just feel what we feel!. It is okay to be nervous!. My OB came in the room on are first visit before i got undressed and we talked for about 15 mins!. So i was already relaxed and felt calm!. Good luck to you and i hope it all works out!.
