Abnormal Bleeding

Abnormal bleeding (DUB or dysfunctional uterine bleeding) includes:

Too frequent periods (more often than every 26 days)!.
Heavy periods (with passage of large, egg-sized clots)!.
Any bleeding at the wrong time, including spotting or pink-tinged vaginal discharge
Any bleeding lasting longer than 7 days!.
Extremely light periods or no periods at all
Overview

Any woman complaining of abnormal vaginal bleeding should of course be examined!. Occasionally, you will find a laceration of the vagina, a bleeding lesion, or bleeding from the surface of the cervix due to cervicitis!. Much more commonly, you will find bleeding from the uterus coming out of the cervical os!.

Excluding pregnancy, there are really only three reasons for abnormal uterine bleeding:

Mechanical Problems
Hormonal Problems
Malignancy
The limited number of possibilities makes your caring for these patients very simple!. First, before examining the patient, obtain a pregnancy test!. If it is positive, then don't do anything more until you've read about the different possible causes!.

Next, obtain a blood count and assess the rate of blood loss to determine how much margin of safety you have!. Someone with a good blood count (hematocrit) and minimal rate of blood loss (less than a heavy period), can tolerate this rate of loss for many days to weeks before the bleeding itself becomes a threat!.

It may feel scary to go to your doctor but its better if you go and get a check up!. Your doctor will be the only person who can tll you if this is normal!. Think about it, wouldnt you feel relieved if everything is okay!? Also periods are suppose to last between 3-7 days!. but everyone is different!. just to be save go to your doctor =]

It sounds like it could be ovarian cysts, they are common but you should get to a doctor go to a free clinic or family planning!. Best to get it checked I have them right now and had them before and it is a symtom but they should be monitored and usually can be treated with birth control pills the hormones help to shrink and make them go away!.!.!. dont wait go get it taken care ofWww@Answer-Health@Com

It sounds like an off-balance of your hormones!. I would say go to the doctor and have it fixed, but!.!. :|
Otherwise, birth control helps regulating periods!. Check and see if there's a Planned Parenthood around you and they will give them to you for free depending on your income!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I dont know about where you live but we have health clinics that people without insurance can go to!. Just search the internet to find out if you have one close by!. in spite of not having insurance you need to see a doctor!. Go to the family planning clinic they will base on your income!. this could be a sign of somethin serious!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Brown stuff is just old blood!. Your vagina is cleaning itself out, old blood looks brown!.

Birthcontrol will help regulate your period and well usually make them shorter!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Don't know of any home remedy, but do some Research and see if you don't have a free woman's health clinic in your town!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

go to the doctor if you care it could be very seriousWww@Answer-Health@Com

hah so your blaming this all on our president who doesnt even control where you work or how you make a living!?

its called working to get your money, not relying on the goverment!.

also you can always call the doctor for free, and i wouldnt be complaining now, not having any money to pay for insurance!.!.!.pshh just wait till the taxes go up if obama gets in office, then you wont be blaming bush anymore will you!?

also who wants to pay for others people's problems!?i know i dont, and really, do you seriously think this isnt your fault that you dont have enough money!? you should have listened more in class and gotten a better education to get a better job!.

dont blame other people for your troubles, its no ones fault that you dont have enough money to pay to go see the doctor!.

its your fault!.

When I was on Depo I had this problem, mine would last for 3-4 weeks and have the brown stuff, then they would come and go!.

You are still young and could be still going through changes, you may have been stressed which prolong your period!. If you have started any new medication that could also be as to why!.

If you are experiencing no pain I would wait and see, if your period return to normal I would say go to the doctor but that doesn't seem as a option for you right now!. Prolonged periods can be signs of something serious, ovarian cancer being one of them thats why I would recommend medical attention!. If they return to normal you should be okay but I am not a doctor an I strongly recommending seeing your nearest Planned Parent hood, they will help you with medical bills!.

First of all, don't try any homemade medications!. It could be dangerous!.

Next, if you don't have money, contact your local health department!. You should be able to get a free or really cheap exam!. They usually are not allowed to refuse people who are unable to pay!.

Now, for your question, it is possible to have irregular periods for many reasons!. Sometimes stress can be a huge factor!. Are you in school!? Have you recently started a new job or moved out on your own!?

Also, changes in hormone levels can cause irregular periods!. Some women suffer with irregular periods for many years!. Sometimes taking an oral birth control pill can regulate your cycle!.

Another possibility could be a problem such as cysts or fibroids in your uterus, or a disorder called endometriosis!. Sometimes bleeding problems can also indicate certain types of cancer!.

The bottom line is, if this continues you will need to be examined by a doctor!. If you are a student you may be able to apply for Medicaid!. What state do you live in!? Try to find out if your state has an assistance program for people who cannot afford health care!.

And remember to vote on Nov 4!. In the state of Georgia we have started early voting this week already!.

I hope you get this figured out!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
