Does not getting regular periods affect a woman's fertility? ?!

Question: Does not getting regular periods affect a woman's fertility!? !?
I recently went off the birth control 2 months ago because I want to try to become pregnant!. I have not had my period for 3 months and I am very upset about it!. Does this mean I can't get pregnant!? I have been trying to call my doctor and he has been ignoring me and the office would not give me an appointment till 10/28/08!. When I called the office, the secretary keep me on hold for half an hour till my cell phone died!. I am very upset about this!. My doctor could just solve the problem by just coming to the phone to talk to me and writing me a prescription for medicine to bring on my periods!. All I am trying to do is getting my periods regulated so that I can get pregnant!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Whats important here is whether or not you are ovulating and since you have just gone off the pill it can take a few months for your system to start up again!. Obviously you haven't ovulated yet or if you have it was less than 2 weeks ago!. Just wait a little while longer and look out for regular PMS signs etc!. Your period and ovulation should start up again really soon if not then its best to seek doctors advice!. Maybe you need a new Doc as this current one doesn't seem to be very helpful!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No!. It just makes it a little more difficult to get pregnant, because your cycle doesn't follow the normal 28 day pattern!. I have very long cycles also, between 30-45 days!. If you just went off the pill, and you've been on for a while, you'll want to be off for at least 6 months before trying to become pregnant!. That should also give you time to figure out how your natural cycles really are!. During that time, you can start keeping a temperature chart so that you can start to see how you fluctuate during your cycle!.

If you are under weight, that can also lead to missed periods, so be sure to stay active and maintain a healthy weight before, during and after you become pregnant!. A pill doesn't fix everything, so be sure to do all that you can to insure that you are staying healthy by exercise and proper diet!.

Best of luck to you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Maybe you need to get a new doctor!. The fact that you are irregular does not necessarily mean you will not get pregnant!. Since you have missed two periods, could you already be pregnant!? Doctors are very busy and most usually will not come to the phone or prescribe meds if they have not seen the patient!. For one thing, they don't get to charge you for an appt!. if you do not come in!.

Before you get a period, you should ovulate and then your period will start in about two weeks after that, if you are not pregnant!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have always had an irregular period and the year that I got pregnant, I wouldn't have a period for three months, I would take three pregnancy tests and not be pregnant, then I would get my period and it wouldn't come back again for another couple of months!. I did get pregnant thought, I just didn't know I WAS pregnant because my periods were so irregular, it took four months to get pregnant!. Good luck, I doubt anything was harmed and you will have your baby:)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Your periods do not need to be regular to get pregnant but you do have to get them!. Your situation is a little weird and you should see a doctor!. I have never had a regular period!. They do happen every month but not at a right schedule!. Sometimes they are two weeks late, but I did get pregnant!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
