Question: Hey ladies, have any of you ever had a colposcopy!?
I am having one next week because my pap came back abnormal!. I was just wondering how painless it really is!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

it really isn't different from a pap smear, it just takes a bit longer!. the colposcope is actually just a high powered microscope the gyno uses to get a closer look at your cervix!. if he/she takes a biopsy, that does hurt, it's a really uncomfortable pinch!. and they put this gross stuff in there to stop any bleeding that comes out like coffee grinds!. your gyno can tell then after looking if you need anything further done!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
It can be "uncomfortable"!. I won't go into it further than that, except to say that while the procedure was unpleasant, I was at work the next day!. Just try and stay relaxed!.!.!.(yeah, right, i know!)Www@Answer-Health@Com
You are not awake for it so it is fine!. The worst part is the "prep" the night before!. Plan on sitting on the can for 3 - 4 hours straight!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
