So.. I cut my ankle the other day while shaving my legs.. Help!?!

Question: So!.!. I cut my ankle the other day while shaving my legs!.!. Help!!?
I would consider myself a pro at shaving legs seeing as I've been doing it for years!. But this past Saturday when I shaved them I cut my ankle badly!. I had a big gash in my ankle and bled for a long time!. I put some neosporin and a band aid on it and controlled the bleeding and tried to keep it sealed and stuff to heal!.

Well now it has a scab and it itches like crazy!. With all my other scabs I've ever had, and I've had a lot since I was a kid because I fall a lot, they have NEVER itched! I'm constantly scratching my ankle because it bothers me so much!. No matter what I put on it I end up itching it and it becomes this big problem!.

So do you think I could have an infection or something of the sort!? Do any of you itch on your legs after you cut yourself!? Anything would be greatly appreciated!. I just need to know why my ankle is itching so badly!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
yeah its normal!. just leave it alone for a while, try not to itch it!. put some ice on it maybe!.

the ankle is like the most prone spot to get cut, since its a bone!. try to be careful when you get to that part!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

well, you dont have to listen to a 9 yr old but my mom puts ice on it and then a band-aid for me not to cut it again!. depending on how big it is, how can go to cvs or walgreens, any pharmacy will work!. if your nails are long, cut then to where there short enough then file them until they are smoothish!. again, you dont have to listen to me!. i will not be offended!. thats just what i know so far =) hope it feels betterWww@Answer-Health@Com

Sounds like it's healing!. You can still put some neosporin on it, it will keep it a little softer and it won't itch as badly!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

don't worry!. the itching just means it is healing!. just try not to scratch it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

maybe its itching because hair is starting to come out
i hope its not an infection & try to wax its betterWww@Answer-Health@Com

Itching usually means healing!. :) Sorry!

If you see a lot of redness or swelling around your scab, or weeping of puss, then it would be infected!. Doesn't sound like that at all, and you did everything right to prevent it!. Most likely it is just the position of the scab!.!.!. think about everything that rubs there (socks, pants, maybe your shoes, blankets, etc!.!.!.) Most likely, the fact that it is getting "itched" is why it itches even more!

Wish I could help, but it is healing and soon will be good as new!Www@Answer-Health@Com
