Yes you are in hell! You may feel some better by tomorrow!. Worst one I had was when I was pregnant! Arrgggghhh!! Eat yogurt and lots of itWww@Answer-Health@Com

I had a yeast infection not too long before I had to have pelvic surgery this past summer!. It did not go away with over the counter medication!. Since I didn't want to mess around so close to surgery in this area, I called the doctor who prescribed Diflucan!. I believe it was one dose!. It is an oral medication!. It took a few days, but it cleared up the problem!. I would also suggest using a cortisone cream (one that is safe for the outer genital area) which may help with the outer irritation!. My mom used to recommend that!. It can help even after the initial treatment of the antifungal stuff is past!. Also using the creams such as miconazole or whatever is over the counter may be helpful in addition in helping with the irritation, but ask the doctor first!. I would call your regular general practicioner if you can't get ahold of your gyn!. doc!. Alot of times they can prescribe right over the phone if it isn't your first yeast infection!.
You may also wish to try other types of medications for yeast infections!. Read the ingredients!. If you have no insurance or similar, you may wish to try that!. Don't let it go whatever you do!! If you let it go it can cause all kinds of problems in a while or affect your fertility, ect!. in the long run!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

no offense to Wonder, because she's my Contact and all, but her advice is 100% INCORRECT for a yeast infection!. She's sorta right IF you had a UTI, but you don't, so please read on!.!.!.

You can buy Clotrimazole cream, usually labeled as "athlete's foot OR antifungal" cream!. The strength available over the counter is 1%!. This will help stop the itching, and is usually very inexpensive in cost!.

Creams like Hydrocortisone 1% and 0!.5% are also effective, but will do absolutely NOTHING to kill the yeast infection!. It only kills the "itch", so to speak, and it does it really well!.

When my best friend gets an infection, I prepare a "compound" (I'm a pharmacist) of both clotrimazole and hyrdocortisone 1% cream to ease her irritation!. It really works well!. Please remember to purchase the "cream" version of the remedies I have mentioned, because any type of ointment will further exacerbate the itching in your vulvar areas, due to the oil in their preparations!.

Also, make sure to use a mild soap when washing your vulvar area, because an antibacterial soap can sometimes make the itching worse due to the fact that it tends to "dry out" the delicate skin of your external vaginal area!.

Don't worry -- the itching will pass in a few (3-4) days!. :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hey, we've all been there at one time or another!. Did the miconazole inserts come with a cream for external itch!? If so, I would apply that as needed throughout the day!. God, Yeast Infections suck! Whatever you do, don't scratch or you're going to get that terrible burn when you urinate!. You should start feeling better in another day or so!.!.!.!.it always feels worse just before it starts getting better!. The ice pack is a good idea! I would try that!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Thank the Lord Baby Jesus and all 18 of the Apostles (or however many of them there are!.!.!.!?) that I have thankfully NEVER had one !.!.!.
BUT I do know that drinking a TON of water and taking cranberry pills helps when you have a UTI!.

UTI's are also known as the "honeymooner's infection" !.!.!. aka: "we had sex 14 times last night and now I have a UTI" infection!.

<-------- get's UTI's a lot
*cries*

EDIT: LISTEN TO WHITNEY! :))))
I have never had a yeast infection!.!.!.!.!. but keep some cran!. pills on hand !.!.!. just in case you ever get a UTI!
