Period that is way out of hand... help!?!

Question: Period that is way out of hand!.!.!. help!!?
Ok so right now I am really upset, and scared because of my period having been going on for a long while!. About 2-3 weeks and the flow is really heavy, along with blood clots, and I just don't know what to do right now!. This is not the first time this has happened, my period lasted about a month 2 months or so ago but was just long, and not really heavy, I visited the doctor and she told me there is nothing to worry about!. What do you think is wrong with me!? Should I be worried at all!? I'm so stressed about it because I just hope that nothing is wrong like I have some terrible tumor or cancer or something! I am really upset about it!. Also I am 17 years old, never been sexually active, never pregnant, never been on birth control!. So I just don't know what to think, I have been gaining weight more recently, and under so much stress, this just has made it worse!. Also more about me, I just became a vegetarian which idk if that is affecting me but i doubt it because I take vitamins, so just if anyone responds or helps me out, I really appreciate it thank you!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Don't use the answer board as ur primary source of info or to try to diagnose what the problem is!. However, 2-3 wks is a long time to menstruate for ANYONE, so make an appt w/ur DR!. or go to a diff Dr for a second opinion!. This is abnormal and there's a reason for it!. Stressing out about it though doesn't help and is just another stresser on ur body!. UR not dying, so relax! It could have something to do w/ur weight fluctuation, hormones, or some sort of deficiency (be it vitamin, iron!.!.!.etc)
Take note of all ur symptoms and irregularities so that when u see ur Dr, u have it written down so as to not forget anything!. Make sure u have a balanced diet & reg exercise!.
Also, when I was in my late teens, my periods were irregular and some heavy while others were light!. Some lasted a little over a week and some lasted onky 3-4 days!.
Just keep in mind that if u really feel as thought something is wrong and ur current Dr dismisses it, u can always go to someone else and get a second opinion!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'm not a doctor but I am a woman and have a lot of women friends!. Your period is in no way "normal"!. I really doubt you have a tumor, "or something", but I strongly suggest seeing another doctor!. I understand that you are a virgin for whatever reason, but taking a birth control pill may be an effective way of regulating your periods!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You may want to see a gynecologist!. They specialize in that sort of thing!. They can prescribe medication, birth control more specifically, that can help to regulate your cycle!. They also are more experienced in womens health, and would be better able to spot an abnormality if one existed!. Chances are it really is nothing, and you just need something to regulate your cycle, and after a while it will be closer to normal!.

Your choice to become vegetarian, while it will affect you in some ways, shouldn't affect you like that!. If it's happened before in all likelihood it's going to happen again!. If your doctor told you not to worry about it, but you continue to feel something isn't right, I'd get a second opinion!. It could just be stress or any other number of things going on around you!. I know my cycle has NEVER been real steady so I don't think there's really anything wrong with you!. Again, if you feel that something just isn't right, get a second opinion!. Better safe than sorry!. Hope this helps!Www@Answer-Health@Com
