First time using a tampon, when should I take it out?!

Question: First time using a tampon, when should I take it out!?
Ok so I am 17 and have been using pads ever since starting my period at the age of 13!. I just put a tampon in today and it didn't hurt when I put it in!. It does feel a little uncomfortable now while I have it in and when I am sitting but it doesn't hurt!. However, my cousin also just started using a tampon 2 days ago and when she first tried to take it out she told me it hurt like hell!. So now I am really scared to take it out!. She took it out about 30 minutes after putting it in though!. Now she says she loves them and can't imagine going back to pads!. I just want to make sure I take it out properly so it doesn't hurt as much as it hurt her!. I am on my third day of my period, and my period usually lasts 7 days!. I have had the tampon in for about 1 1/2 hours!. How long before I can take it out!? And how do I take it out properly (to eliminate any means of pain)!? Www@Answer-Health@Com

The less blood on the tampon the more it will hurt!. Thats how you know if its ready to come out!. If it hurts and doesnt come out easily its nto ready to be removed!. You can wear a tampon for up to eight hours, but I wouldnt suggest anymore than four for health reasons!. Another thing that may have caused the pain for your cousin is because she wasnt wearing the right absorbency!. If she was light spotting and wore a regular or super tampon, then most likely it would be painful to remove it! Hope this helps!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

I take mine out when I have a little spotting when I go to the restroom!. If you take it out too soon after putting it in, it can tear the tissue inside and leave you open for infections to set in!. If you leave it in for the right amount of time, it shouldn't hurt to pull it out!. You really shouldn't leave them in for longer than 8 hours though!. Hope this helps!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think you can keep it in for up to 8 hours!. If you leave it in for longer than that you might get toxic shock!.

When I removed mine the first time it didn't really hurt that much, it just felt really weird!. Just make sure you have your legs stretched open and take your time pulling i out!. After 30 minutes it probably would hurt because it hasn't absorbed that much!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It won't hurt if you're using the proper tampon for your flow!. When your tampon is nearly saturated with blood, it'll be easy to take out!.

Change your tampon at least every three to four hours during the heaviest part of your period, and you can change it every five to six after that!.

Best luck, I love Tampons!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

1st of all it depends on what kind of tampon you are using! gentle glide tampons shouldn't hurt when you put in or take it out!. If you have size regular then it should not be more then 4 hours, if its super it should not be more then 5 to 6 hours, and if its size light or small it should not be More then 2 hours! to take it out and for it not to hurt as much put one leg on the toilet and take it out, drop it and flush!. don't use the cardboard applicator those always hurt playtex gentle glide or tampax pearl are the best! trust me! lol good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com
