Do you HAVE to get a PAP smear in order to get birth control?!


Question: Do you HAVE to get a PAP smear in order to get birth control!?
I thought it was an option!? And one time I got it, they didn't give me a PAP smear!. The thought makes my skin crawl!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

for the IUD you do need it, i just went this past week to get on the pill and the doctor said i didnt need to have it done if i was going on the pillWww@Answer-Health@Com

The Pap is recommended at least every three years!. If you are sexually active, this test is highly recommended!. It not only screens for cervical cancer, but can also catch pre-cancerous changes in the cervix!. Cervical cancer is caused by the human papilloma virus which is spread through sexual contact!. Many women have this virus and don't even realize it!.
It is better to endure a few minutes of discomfort with a pap test, rather than get surprised by advanced cervical cancer!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's not necessary, however if you are sexually active it is highly recommended!. Don't worry it's not too bad!. I was intensely nervous my first pap smear, but it's actually really quick and the doctor explains everything as he/she is doing!.

No!. You'll only need a pap smear once you start having sex!. And if you have, they cant make you have a pap smear to get the pill!. Don't forget the condoms!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

of course not! pap smear is done by your gynecologist every six months!. and it is usually advice to those woman who already have sexual activity!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
