Question: Need help asap medication!?
I have the implant in my arm!.I went to the doctors the other day with problems with bleeding, the doc gave me tablets called norethisterone 5mg 3 times a day for 2 and a half month!.The problem is i suffer from recurrent dvts deep vain thrombosis and i don't think i can take this medication can you please help thank youWww@Answer-Health@Com

Make a tactful(!) query at the surgery, tell your doctor you are worried!. He/she will either reassure you or prescribe something different!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Norithisterone is a progesterone like your implant and can be used in those with a past history of clot!. However it is a little odd to give more progesterone!. I am not keen on implants as a method of contraception at the best of times, they may produce dysfuctional bleeding for 3 to 6 months!.
If you were determined to continue using it, Cyklokapron would be more likely to stop the bleeding!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Your doctor should have your records ans should know if you have a problem with this medication, however, they are not always right!. Go back and ask you doc to check!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
