Question: Uti antibiotics/ birth control!?
I know that antibiotics interfers with my birth control, and i plan on refraining from sex until i get my next period even after i completed the antibiotics, but my question is if i had sex on friday and i started taking them today on sunday, is that going to put me at risk at all since semen can remain in my system for a while!? or am I okay as long as i just use a back up method until i get my period!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

You should be fine!. While it is not advisable to skip more than one pill (ergo the 24 hours of "unprotected sex" between your last sexual encounter and the start of antibiotics), you also have to understand that it takes a couple of days for the FULL effect of the pill to wear down, and it also takes a few days for the FULL effect of the antibiotic to become detrimental to the efficacy of the pill!.

You will be fine, just by some condoms and use them until your pills are effective again!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
