Question: I've been asked to go back for a 2nd Cervical Smear, does that mean there's something wrong!?
I had one about 2 months ago!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
no not necassarily!. i was called back to and asked the nurse what was wrong and she shrugged and said "they may not have got enough cells to test last time, they may have lost the slide or put a finger on it or they may have dropped it in which case they couldnt look at it cause it would be contaminated, so you have been recalled for another one!"
i was a bit cheesed off at that, as they are always telling us how inmportant they are and then they could go and drop it!! ah well, better to be safe than sorry tho, ask the nurse what was wrong just incase it was abnormal cells, but you can get those at certain times during the month, so its probably nothing to worry about!. It might mean that but more likely is that there is another explanation!. They may have lost your results, your sample got contaminated, etc!. etc!.

I've had this happen a couple of times and I was told on one occasion that they had seen 'abnormal' cells!. Naturally I panicked, but the doctor explained to me that this is actually quite normal and can depend on the time of the month the smear is done along with a huge range of other factors!.

I'd suggest ringing to make a new appointment and asking the nurse or doctor why you have been called back and if you should be concerned or not!. Try not to panic like me! Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

no, not at all, just means the test they took may not have given a sure enough result, all my smears came back negative!.!.!. they know if its bad or not, so you would too by now, its very likely there wasnt enough cells on your smear to get a result so when you go back they will do it again and make sure they have everything they need to give you a result!. dont worry it happens all the time good luck xWww@Answer-Health@Com

Not necessarily!. It could mean there was a problem at the lab while processing your sample!.

Relax, even if there was an abnormal test, it does not mean that there is anything wrong!. Many women have experienced this, and most of the time, it is just a false reading, and is resolved with a second test!.

Take care and I wish you well!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yea!.!.!.they may have found some pre-cancerous cells!. This happened to me!. Just make SURE you keep the appt!. You'll just have to have an outpatient surgury to get rid if those cells!. Its not a big deal if you dont put it off!.!.!.!.but it can be!.

I dont know why people are giving this thumbs down!.!.!.this is serious!. Please listen to my advice!.Im not saying this is what is happening to you!.!.!.but you need to be safe than sorry!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I can be simple error made, so that it is not readable!. and there is possibility that it may need to be repeated because it is suspicious, and a new smear will clarify the issue!. Follow through on it and best wishes, for best resultsWww@Answer-Health@Com

Not necessarily, I had to do the same and it turned out to be nothing!. Don't stress over it like I did, I had myself at the brink of death before my appointment and then felt silly for worrying so much!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Not necessarily, it could just be they didn't get a good enough sample to test, that's quite common!. Make sure you ask why you're being asked back when you go!Www@Answer-Health@Com

i have been asked back for a 2nd one before because my results we're inconclusive, 2nd one turned out fine but defo go back for the re testWww@Answer-Health@Com
