Should I get the LEEP procedure done? Biopsy came back normal..?!

Question: Should I get the LEEP procedure done!? Biopsy came back normal!.!.!?
When I was 19, I had an abnormal pap smear!. The doctors suggested a biopsy!. They took the biopsy, and found out all my cells were normal, but they suggested more frequent pap smears (2x a year)!. I am now 24, and just a had an abnormal pap smear!. I went to a new obgyn (since I had moved) and she took the biopsy!. She called today to tell me the biopsy said that my cells came back normal, but she said I should get the LEEP procedure done because she may not have gotten the part of my cervix where the abnormal cells where!. I'm really quite confused- do I need to get that done, even though my cells were normal!? This has happened to me before!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
ok this is coming from experience, First go find another OB/GYN it doesn't sound like she knew what she was doing!. Make sure to tell the new OB/GYN that you have had abnormal paps in the past!. That way the new one will know this and well be more thorough!. At the time of the pap ask her about the LEEP and if you should get it!. I know my doc doesn't do it unless there is a reason because it thins out the cervix and that not only can cause more infection, but can make getting pregnant and carrying the baby harder for your body to do so!. I

have had the LEEP twice!. Not something you want to put your body thru if you don't need to!. If you do go ahead with it, get some pain pills, some women say they don't need it!. I have a high tolerance for pain and I needed them the first week!.
Good Luck and look for a good doctor!Www@Answer-Health@Com

You may or may not have a STI, and need to get it checked!. Abnormal cells are an indication of infection or possible malignancy!. Most often infection of some sort!. Do you use a condom everytime you have sex!? Do you have multiple partners!? Get the LEEP and be safe and sure!. Do not take a chance and fail to follow up and later find you have developed cervical cancer!. Better safe than sorry!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

So why didn't she get the part of your cervix that mattered most & how do you know that she'll get it right this time!?
If it were me; I'd find another ob/gyn & not have the LEEP!. Just wait for my next check-up!.

Best Wishes :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

I would wait - get another pap in a few months!. Better yet, get another ob!. You should feel confident that your doc is taking good care of you!. I would switch!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
