Period after baby? Strange and late...way TMI?!

Question: Period after baby!? Strange and late!.!.!.way TMI!?
I have had 3 periods since I've had my son 7 months ago!. This month I was about 2 weeks late and thought I was pregnant, I took a couple of tests and they all said negative!. Well when I started it was so much heavier and different than it has ever been!. It hurt so bad, cramping and nausia and there were a ton of strange clots that weren't just blood, it looked stringy but not gooey, more like string!. Has this happend to anyone else!? Also when I wore a tampon it hurt inside and usually I can't even feel it!. Sorry for the TMI but I was just wondering if its normal to go through this after having a baby!. I am also breastfeeding!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
When you breastfeed, it thins out the lining inside the vagina!. Therefore, that is probably why you are feeling some pain with tampons!. It can also cause vaginal dryness!. Most women do not have periods while breastfeeding, but the ones that do, may have irregular ones!. The reason it was probably heavier was because you were late!. The lining of the uterus thickens up every month to prepare for pregnancy, whether a fertilized ovum comes or not!. When you are late, it keeps getting thicker and thicker!. Once it does eventually shed, it is usually heavy!. Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

most women don't have their periods while they are breastfeeding, so that in itself is unusual!. as for the pain, i would suggest that you use pads for awhile, it obviously is still hurting to use the tampons!. as for the clots, its normal, the uterus is just sloughing off the extra tissue!. periods can be strange after a baby, so don't panic, its normal!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I dont htink ill be able to help you that much as i have not had a child!.!.!.!.maybe u should see your doctor and get their opinion!.!.!.i wouldnt stress!.!.!.after having a child your hormone levels are all over the place and this could be contributing to the change in your cycle!. Thats all perfectly normal!. Breastfeeding alters your hormones and will interfere with your cycle so until you wean baby your periods will be weird!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hey! yes unfortunately this is normal :)
for about six months after having my son i found getting my period was really heavy and cramps too!. sometimes I would get no period one month and then have it the next!. It is just your body sorting its self out again and when you breast fed it can make your periods come and go ( or you can have no period)!. But hang in there and it will all return to normal! also I found tampons really bad for like the first 8 or so weeks then everything was normal again but it can take longer!.
When you have sex still use protection even if you don't get your period or your spotting because you can get pregnant again this early on!.
Congrats on breast feeding etc as its not easy but it all falls into place after a while :) Www@Answer-Health@Com
