Questions about Birth Control.?!

Question: Questions about Birth Control!.!?
Hi,

I decided to go on birth control because I'm terrified of pregnancy!. Like, insanely paranoid!. I just finished the first set of active pills (in a 28 pack) and started the inactive pills two days ago, on Monday!. I only received my period late today!. It appeared with very little cramping and other symptoms!. It is also very light and a mix of pink and brown, not the full red that I'm used to!. I'm a bit worried about this!.

Usually my periods are very heavy, and are very predictable!. Always the same amount of days, same duration, etc!. Now, I don't know if it's because the birth control makes it lighter and easier on a woman, or something else!.

I have had unprotected sex with my long-term boyfriend maybe once or twice during this month!. He always withdrew long before he came, and I know there is a chance of pregnancy with precome, but with BCP also!?

This is what I'm worried/questioning about!.

Is my period just lightened because of the pills, or could it be a possibility of pregnancy!? The sexual activity was maybe!.!.2 weeks ago!?

And if anyone wants to know, I'm taking Alesse!.

Can anyone add some insight!? And I don't just want to hear 'take a pregnancy test'!. I've already thought of this, and it would be redundant to hear it over again!. I want to know if it's a typical reaction of using birth control or something!.

Please and Thanks!.

Thank you for any responses!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The chances that you are pregnant are VERY slim if you have been religiously taking your pills (and if you are anything like me, you are dedicated to taking them at the exact same minute!!)!. I am more apt to say that your period is like this because of the pill!.

I kind of freaked out at first - the same as you when I first went onto the pill because I was used to heavy cramping, very heavy bleeding, tons of clotting, and a fairly long period!. When I got onto the pill, my cramps almost dissipated (just uncomfortableness with cramping), my periods were light, and only tiny clots but nothing that I was originally used to (it also got rid of a lot of other symptoms)!. I first freaked and swore that I was pregnant but I was reassured that I wasn't (however I haven't even once had unprotected sex) and that it was just the pill!.

I am going to reassure you that it is more likely the pill!. If you are at all worried about pregnancy, do take a hpt (I know you said don't mention it, but it can really put you at ease if it's on your mind) and/or talk to your doctor - sometimes talking to a professional about such matters can ease your mind too!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Birth control pills are sometimes prescribed to patients to make the periods shorter, lighter, and with less symptoms, so thats probably what's up!. Completely normal with bc!.

Always a chance with pregnancy as long as you are having sex, but I honestly think you aren't pregnant, because the pills do that!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i kinda freaked when i first started taking the pill!. first of all i got some very light spotting!. but then what scared me is that my period was so much shorter AND lighter!.

its normal though!. actually, lots of ppl go on birth control just to alleviate the cramping and symptoms!. i def!. know where you are coming from but don't worry!. you are fine!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com
