Question: Why do doctors always want to know if you have started your period!?
My sister went to the doctors for her wrists sprain and i had to go in with her and the doctor asked her if she had had her first period yet! and also my other sister (her twin) went in because of her ear infection and the doctor asked her again! whywhy!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you're old enough to be menstruating, its a standard question that the nurse will ask regardless of what you're in for!. I'm in my 30s and always get asked when my last period was!.
I think its just for them to reference in case they need to prescribe any medication that might be dangerous for you if you were pregnant!. If you say, "ummm, I think my last period was 3 months ago" then they'll think twice before ordering an x-ray or anything else that could damage a baby and would likely order a pregnancy test before treating you!.

Obv if you havent started your 1wst period, your not pregnant!.!.!. they ask incase!.!. i mean say if you are pregnant, and you have an infection, or a sprain, they need to provide medcine, and the medicine may be harmfull to the baby, so they need to limit what they give you!.!.!. asking if youve had you 1st period is a better way than asking you if your pregnant in front of your mumWww@Answer-Health@Com
Sometimes it can be related to the problem your visiting for, i'm no medic but I can say for definite that a sprained wrist will not be affected by having your period or not!. I doubt ear infection would be either but not sure!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
i think it's just if they are at that age to make sure they know what they are!. and maybe because they could be other problems associated with them later!.
