They won't float up inside you!.
The first time you put one in, it might hurt a little!. Pulling it out for the first time hurts a little too, but after that, you can barely feel it!.

If you start using tampons, i would suggest using the slim-fit/slender variety!. Putting a little vaseline on the applicator helps get it in when you're still learning!.

To put one in, sit on the toilet with your legs apart, and slide the tampon into the hole that your menstrual blood comes out of!. push it in until you feel little/no pressure (approx!. when the applicator grip reaches the outside of your vag!.) Push the stick thingy on the applicator in, and then remove the applicator from your body!. the string should be hanging outside your body!. if the tampon is in too far, then you can adjust it by gently tugging on the string until it is positioned correctly!.

When you remove the tampon, remember to keep a gentle, steady pull on the string, then wrap it in toilet paper and throw it in the garbage, unless it says to do otherwise on the tampon packaging!.

Putting in a tampon can take a few tries, but you'll get it eventually!

P!.S!. Don't leave a tampon in for more than 4 hours, or else you risk getting TSS!. (http://en!.wikipedia!.org/wiki/Toxic_shock!.!.!.

P!.P!.S!. don't worry, there is lots of info inside the boxes of tampons!. all boxes come with a pamphlet that explains how to put in & remove them, and they also show lots of info on TSS!.

Good luck girl!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Tampons do not get lost inside!. Very rarely the string may go up inside but you can usually reach it and get the tampon out!.

The best time to try tampons is in the first few days of your period when the flow is heavy so there is plenty of lube to help it slide into place!. They are great for swimming and dancing and sports!. Just try them and be prepared for a few failures before you get them in properly!. Once they are in right you will not feel them and they won't leak unless you have the wrong absorbency so wear a liner until you have this all sorted!.

You will be fine!. The best thing is you can forget you have your period when you use tampons!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well I can actually relate to you because I'm fifteen too !.
I've had my period since I was eleven & pads do suck !.
I have Cheer practice everyday after school and I have tride tampons !.
I'm not too experiance with them but I tried it because pads feel gross!.
For me, the tampon did NOT hurt but was a little bit uncomfortable !.
Putting it on & taking it off didnt hurt at all, so dont be scared !.
Theres NO way it can "float up" !.
The good thing was that when you wear one, you cant feel your
Period at all !

Sounds like your mom just doesn't want you wearing tampons!. No they can't float up inside you, they would be stopped by your cervix and still be well within reach!. As long as you are not using to high an absorbency they shouldn't hurt at all when you remove themWww@Answer-Health@Com

no, they really dont "float inside u"!. butt if u putt the aplicator in to high or in the wrongg postition it can get stuck and it can get dangerous!. but its very unlikley unless ur not carefull!. u shouldd really just try it!.
best of luck!

I'm sorry but your mother is wrong

Your tampon cannot 'float up inside you'

The only risk about wearing a tampon is getting TSS
but if you change it enough, then you will perfectly fineWww@Answer-Health@Com

No, tampons cannot float up inside you!.
I don't know why your mother would tell you such a thing!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No it can't lol it will hurt the 1st fine though!.!.!. but its ok u will get use to itWww@Answer-Health@Com

It is possible for the string to get stuck inside, but it's nothing that you can't reach up and get yourself!. It may be uncomfortable, but I've never had that happen in the 6 years I've been using tampons!. When I first started wearing them it hurt to pull them out because they were too dry, but you can get a lower absorbency to help with that!. They only risk with tampons is getting TSS (toxic shock syndrome) which is from a bacteria that is only caused by wearing a tampon for too long!. So as long as you change them regularly and don't use an absorbency that is bigger than you need you should have no problems at all!.!.!.Your mom may have just had a bad experience or worries about TSS!.!.!. Ok, first off the tampon is not going to float up inside you!. It has a string attached to it that stays on the outside of your body and prevents it from getting lost!. Also you cant loose anything in there it isn't deep enough!. As long as you change the tampon as indicated, i think about every 4 hours is good, you shouldn't have any problems!. I dont remember pain the first time I used one it might feel a bit strange but doesn't hurt!. You will be way more comfortable with a tampon instead of a pad and it is much less messy!. Good luck and dont be afraid!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

no, it is impossible to float in!. have you ever seen a diagram of the female reproductive system!? well, it look something like a T and at the top of the T, it goes no further!.

i use them myself, i like the cleaner feeling they provide and also are just easier (i don't have to worry about the pad leaking and whatnot)!. also, i use the maxi size and find no discomfort, so you're good!

when they first go in, the first time, it takes patience!. many women go "up" not "back" when inserting, so remember that your vagina points back slightly, not completely vertically!.

be patient, take a deep breath, and go slowly!. i recommend using a junior size with an applicator, at least for your first couple times!.

good luck! :)Www@Answer-Health@Com
