Answers:
You are right in a way, that is supposed to be the feel of a NON-PREGNANT cervix!.
As you probably know, the vagina is just part of the genitalia!. It is not exactly indispensible to bear babies!. The baby is borne in the UTERUS , which is a muscular organ situated 'above' the vagina!. The uterus has a mouth that projects for some distance into the vagina!. This part is called the cervix!.its oval and Its opening is closed by a mucus plug, which opens to allow the menstrual blood to flow!.in women who have delivered vaginally, the cervical opening is wide and irregular!.
The cervix in a pregnant woman, becomes soft, like your lip!. As the time of delivery approaches, the cervix softens and dilates, a process called 'ripening', so the baby's head can pass through it!.
I hope that answers your question!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The cervix (from Latin "neck") is the lower, narrow portion of the uterus where it joins with the top end of the vagina!. It is cylindrical or conical in shape and protrudes through the upper anterior vaginal wall!. Approximately half its length is visible with appropriate medical equipment; the remainder lies above the vagina beyond view!. It is occasionally called "cervix uteri", or "neck of the uterus"!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
