IUD coil question..HELP?!

Question: IUD coil question!.!.HELP!?
ive had a gynefix 'IUD' fitted for 4months now,and for the past 3months,it would seem everytime me and my partner have sex, afterwards his willy is sore, like quite badly!. just below the head of his penis is a little lump with what looks like a dent from the wire, its annoying because,we have sex and then have to wait a week for the soreness to go,whats the point in having a coil if,we can hardly ever have sex!? anyway, ive spoken to my doctor and she is going to trim the strings,or 'wires' tomorrow, but i was wondering, will this fix it!? because,if not :( Im going to have to wave goodbye to the coil sadly!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

With any luck snipping the threads will fix it!. The problem is that in theory the position of the threads in all coils should be checked after the first period, as they often drop down, or occasionally ride up a little before stabilising!. Unfortunately few doctors however comply with this guideline as it is generally OK and they want to avoid wasting an appointment!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes this can sometimes happen, usually trimming the strings will rectify the problem!. If you still experience problems then it may be the coil is not for you, but usually trimming the strings will almost always do the trickWww@Answer-Health@Com

I had the mirena coil and never had a problem but I imagine its the string that is causing the problem so cutting it should help! The doctor cut mine quite short!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
