Question: Will they tie your tubes if you are young (21)!?
I am 21 but fairly certain I never want to have children of my own!.
If i do decide to have kids I would be fine adopting!. Would most doctors be okay with doing this on someone that young!?

It depends on the doctor!. You'll probably have a tough time finding one that will do the surgery so young unless you have a terrible disease you could pass on to your offspring, or your life would be in danger if you got pregnant!.
I tried to get my tubes tied when I was 27 and had a kid but got turned down by a couple doctors!. I got a Mirena IUD which is as effective, but reversible!. They typical only give that to women who have given birth, though!.
While I understand their reasoning, it's cruel to me to have somone spend their childbearing years hoping they don't get pregnant, and then allow the surgeries in their late 30s when their fertility is decreasing anyway!.
I suggest researching doctors and doubling up on birth control until then!. You might also want to wait a few more years!. I know I was a very different person at 21 then I was at 25!.

The simple answer is yes if you give them the bucks some of them certainly will!.There is no law saying you cannot do it if you don`t have kids!.
With due respect to you 21 is too young an age to have your values clarified!.
I am 25 and I still don`t know what exactly I want with life-money,luxury,independence etc!.So IMHO don`t take that step after all its just more expensive!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I WAS 22 WHEN I HAD MY TUBES TIED, BUT I HAD ALSO DELIVERED MY SECOND CHILD SIX WEEKS EARLIER!. AND I COULD PROVE THAT BOTH OF MY CHILDREN WERE BORN SICK!. i ENJOYED NOT HAVING TO WORRY ABOUT BIRTHCONTROL!. BUT 2 YRS LATER I ENDED UP HAVING A HYSTERECTOMY!.GOOD LUCK WITH GETTING IT DONE!. I'm told some doctors will try to talk you out of it, but there is no law in the US saying you can't do it on your 18th birthday if you so choose!.

I'd imagine such sterilisation/surgery would be reserved for more 'appropriate' circumstances than just being 'fairly certain'!.

i believe you have to be over the age of 25 or have atleast 2 kids already!.!.!. wait a few more years then get it done!.!. after i have one kid im getting my tubes tied!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The ones I'm experienced with would wait until you were in your late 30's before considering this drastic move!. You should ask around, however!.
