im scheduled for the iud (mirena) tomorrow, and i am extremely nervous!.!.!.i want to know if there is any pain rite after the insertion or any side effects anyone has faced with the iud!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The procedure is a simple one!. Don't be nervous!. Let your Doctor know you are a bit worried!. They will be slow!.
Every woman is different and get different levels of discomfort do to the IUD being placed!.
After the procedure you could spot a little and have mild cramping but unlikely!. Try taking advil prior if you like!.!.

As far as pain, every person has a different pain tolerance!. Your Dr!. may recommend you take an OTC pain reliever or prescribe you something if they feel the need!.

I have had mine for 2 years!.It was pretty painful having it inserted,but it was over quick!.They generally do not give you any pain meds!.Have someone drive you!.I drove myself and had to pull over on my way home because I thought I was going to pass out!.I was crampy and bled steadily for a few days!.Then I spotted off and on for 6 months!.I haven't had a period in18 months,which is nice!.I haven't had any side effects to speak of!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Everyone is different, i didn't have any major pain, it was bearable, uncomfortable and feels like there's major pressure "down there"!. after wards it does feel sore (like an average bad period pain) I was still breastfeeding when i had mine inserted and didn't have any irregular bleeding, so i cant say now (as i've stopped and now experiencing irregular bleeding) as it all could be my post pregnancy hormones gettingto normal!. so far so good!.!.!.!.
