It only take a few seconds, and its painless!. It's just uncomfortable because well you legs are open for the doc, lol!. But you'll be fine, and it will be over before you know it!.=)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Pap Smear test is an easy test and you need not worry at all!. In this,
samples are collected from the outer opening or os of the cervix using an Aylesbury spatula or (more frequently with the advent of liquid-based cytology) a plastic-fronded broom!.A scraping, brushing, or smear, is taken from the surface of the vagina or cervix and is prepared on a slide and stained for microscopic examination and cytological analysis!. The appearance of the cells determines whether they are normal, suspicious, or cancerous!.

It will take a couple of minutes only and the pain will be minimal or just like an injection!. -
Best of luck!.-Www@Answer-Health@Com

Good luck! I remember my first one!. It actually was not a bad experience at all!
First when you're called back, they'll check your weight, blood pressure, etc!. like they do all the time at the doctor's!. Next, they'll ask you a bunch of medical history questions!. Be prepared to let them know when you last had your period, how long it lasted, if you've been having any problems, and if you've ever been sexually active!. And it's important to be honest!
Next, they'll leave the room and will ask you to get completely undressed (except for your socks)!. They'll leave you with a gown to change into and they usually tell you if they want the opening in the front or the back!. They'll also give you a sheet to cover your lower half with!.
When the doctor comes in, she will listen to your heart and then have you lie back for a breast exam!. After the breast exam, she'll probably feel your abdomen!. Next is the pelvic exam!. You'll need to scoot all the way so your bottom is at the very edge of the table and you'll put your feet up in stirrups!. It feels really awkward to be all opened up like this, but it's over before you know it and is really important!. The doctor will begin by looking at and feeling you external genitalia to check for sores or lumps!. Next, it's time for the doctor to insert the speculum into your vagina!. It really isn't as bad as it sounds!. My last doctor reminded me to relax and it went in soooo smoothly! If you tense up, it'll be uncomfortable!. Make sure to tell your doctor if anything is uncomfortable!. Once the speculum is in place, the doctor will do the pap smear which takes less than a minute!. If you want to be tested for STD's, now is the time that they'll swab you for that!. Afterwards, the speculum is removed (which feels a little weird), and the doctor will do a bimanual vaginal exam!. The doctor will insert a couple of fingers into your vagina and will feel your lower abdomen with the other hand to check your internal organs!. At the end, they might do a rectovaginal exam, but my doctor has never done it!. If they do it, it's just a finger in the rectum and a finger in the vagina while they feel the abdomen with the other hand!. After that, you're all done! They'll leave you alone to dress and will come back afterward to discuss any concerns with you!. You're done for a year! Good luck!. It'll really be better than you think it will be!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Depends on the doctor you have!. Mine takes anywhere from 5-15 minutes!. Or if you're sexually active, which if you are normally your doctor will take a cotton swab and test for sexually transmitted diseases!. And see how everything is working!. The worst part is the speculum, it doesn't hurt!. It's just an annoying pain that's there while they do what they need to do!. Hope I helped!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well, first of all, it's called a pap SMEAR!. And it takes anywhere up to two weeks!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
