Is a word catheter painful?!
Question: Is a word catheter painful!?
I think I have a bartholin's gland cyst and I read online that sometimes they treat it by inserting a word catheter in to drain it!. The website says the catheter stays in place 4-6 weeks! Is that serious!? Has anyone has that done!? It sounds like it would be painful!. Do you know if you can stll use tampons if you have the catheter in place!? If I go to my doctor, what are the chances I'm going to have to have this done!? Are there any other options!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Compared to the relief, it was worth the 1 minute of pain!. I was paranoid!. I had the procedure done today!. This was the second time, the last time was in 2004!. I knew what to expect but was scared out of my wits!. However the doctor convinced me the procedure would take no more than 2 minutes!. With all my screaming and hollering I think it only took 1 minute!. I had two nurses holding my hand I was insisting that I be put to sleep!. After crying for 10 minutes and almost getting off the table, I decided to go thru with the procedure after suffering for 7 days!. It was worth the 1 minute of pain and was instant relief!. I have the cartheter in now!. There is hardly any pain compared to the pain I experienced last night prior to the procedure!.
