It depends on how much spotting you have!. If you only have a day or two of spotting before your periods starts, that's normal since your progesterone levels are slowly declining, triggering some spotting, and then your period!.
But, if you have a week or so of spotting before your period arrives, you should talk to your doctor about it!.
But since you say "a little bit" - I'd say your spotting is totally normal!.
