Nah, you don't need to go until you're 18, sexually active or are having some problems down there like bad smells or unusual cramps!. As long as your cycle isn't giving you any problems and you're not having sex, you're probably fine! If you want to go, but need the insurance card and money from your Dad, you could always just tell him that you need to go to the doctor but you would rather your friend's Mom take you!. He will probably understand and believe me, he probably doesn't want to talk to you about a gynecologist any more than you want to talk to him about one!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

I recommend to start going around seventeen, unless you become sexually active beforehand!. If you do become sexually active, it would be advised to visit your doctor for a check up!. If you have any other kind of problems, or strange irregularities, you should talk to your doctor about an appointment!. Being that you're healthy and you have regular periods, it doesn't seem too big of a concern!. Also, if you haven't gotten the Gardasil shot, I think you should!. Good luck! :) Www@Answer-Health@Com

You should get your first GYN exam when you reach 18 yrs old if you have not yet had sex!. Otherwise, you need to have it on the first year you become sexually active regardless of how old or young you are (so you can be screened for STDs, get a Pap smear and get a reliable birth control from the doctor or clinic)!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hi there :)
I'm 18, and have had my period for 4 years!.
The first time I went to see the gyno they told me that they didn't want to do a pap until you have your first sexual act (vaginally, that is) because there is chance that they can break the hymen!.

Hope this is helpful to you hun,
Vanessa:)Www@Answer-Health@Com

18 should be when girls start getting a pap-smear test done!.

OR as soon as you start becoming sexually active!! If you're having any problems, of course go see the gyno!.

But if you're younger than 18, are not sexually active, do not have any sexual health problems!.!.!.!. You are fine hun!.:)Www@Answer-Health@Com

my mom didnt even start going to the gyno until after college!. so dont worry about it!. i think if you wanna be sexually active before college or in, you need to go cuz to getting birth control, but i wouldnt worry about going to the gyno at such a young age!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

according to my doc, you should go to the gyno only when (at least) one of these three things apply to you:
1) you are at least 18
2) you are sexually active
3) you are on birth control
if i am right, none of these apply to you yet! :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

first you should tell some one in your famaliy and im 13 and im in my piriod and mostly my whole family nos about my ragand 1 more thing what is gyno!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

You should plan on your first trip being when you become sexually active (actually just before to get some sort of birth control) or you turn 18, whichever comes first!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Some people start going to a gyno when they start they're periods and then others go when they become sexually active!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Nah its cool to just see your regular doctor!.
Usually girls start going to the gyno when they start having sex or if they go on birth control!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Experts recommend 18 or whenever you become sexually active!. You really probably don't need to go yet!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Usually the age is 18 or when you become sexually active!.!.!.Im 20 and i still haven't gone to the gyno!.!.!.!.so you should be fine for a whileWww@Answer-Health@Com

Unless you start having problems I wouldn't worry about it until you are in your late teens but definately before you become sexually active (best to stay a virgin until marriage anyway) Www@Answer-Health@Com

Most girls don't start going until they are 18!. however, if you do become active it is recommended!. Sorry about your mom!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
