I used to think that too but it all changed 4 years ago!.I'm 29 y/o now,had my son when i was 19!.When i was 25 i started missing my periods,months went by,nothing!.I was happy at 1st but about 2 years i really started worrying!.Started seeing all kinds of dr's,not one dr found anything wrong,did all kinds of tests,checked pituitary gland,hormones,etc!.!.After 3 years and not one period one dr suggested i do bone density test,just to find out that i have osteoporosis!.Just like menopausal women when they stop having periods,they stop producing estrogen(hormone)and when you don't produce estrogen,you start loosing bone mass!.I had to go on birth control so that i can at least have induced periods and stop loosing more bone mass!.AS much as i hate them,i'm kinda grateful i have them and afraid to get off the pill,afraid they may go away again!.Been on them for a year!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I hate periods, but I love being able to be a ***** and blame it on PMS!. Women experience PMS and it is kind of a bond we all have and understand (which sets us apart from men)!. It's kind of like a secret club in a way!. My only wish is that men could have periods and experience the whole gamut of PMS (bloating, crazy emotions, cravings, lousy/sluggish feeling, zits, etc)! We women are strong and can withstand much more than men- that's for sure!Www@Answer-Health@Com
