Question: Missed 3 periods doctor says am not pregnant so no need to do a blood test cause am sterilised!?
ive been sterilised for 7 yrs now i have 4 kids doctor wont do a blood test to see if am pregnant!. another doctor said to me when i got sterilised that a woman can get pregnant but 1 in 200 chance or a ectopic pregnancy!. anyway ive missed 3 periods and the doc also said that i may be hormonal and has done a blood test for that ill find out next week what the results are!.!.!. but wont do 1 for a pregnancy!.i did do 2 tests at home but the were both negative i do feel tired and moody i got loads of heart burn am only 31 so i dont know what to think any more!.!.!.any advice would be great thanks!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I understand that you have done a tubes ligation procedure!. In this case you should be worried as you are quite young,31!. There is an increased risk of an ectopic pregnancy and For sure your doctor should be concerned and I do not agree on his approach unless you removed your ovaries which I do not think it has been done for a lady at your age with no underlying pathology!.
I recommend the following, run a blood pregnancy test +/- progestrone level which are more sensitive than urine test,although by 3 months you should have no problem!.Do an ultrasound!. If they were all negative then you need a hormone profile to check if your ovaries are functioning!.
If there is no pregnancy and you have no bleeds for 3 months, that means that your womb is being exposed to to much estrogen and no progestron!. This should be investigated and followed as it carries a risk of developing womb disease which can be serious!.
I seriously think that your doctor approach is poor regarding your situation and I suggest you c an obs/gynae specialist!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The chances are that you are not pregnant if you have had 2 tests that are negative and you have been sterilised!!
But by now you should have a regular cycle so the fact that you have missed 3 periods and you feel tired and moody it sounds like your hormones!. Is your doctor checking your hormone levels!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

your Dr should have sent you for an ultrasound to rule out an etopic pregnancy, those can be very dangerous!. I could also be hormonal!. If you begin having severe pain before your next appointment, see your Dr immediately or go to the ER!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
