Birth Control Pills and Acne?!

Question: Birth Control Pills and Acne!?
I'm 14 and I have moderate acne & extremely oily skin!. I read in Seventeen that birth control pills can help clear up my acne by reducing the amount of oil my skin makes!. It also said that if you're a teen thinking about sex, you might just do it in the spur of the moment and not use proper protection, so I'd like to be ready before I make a mistake!. Do you know of any birth control pills that offer at least 98% protection against pregnancy and help with acne!? Do you have any ideas on how to talk to my mom about this!? Thanks!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Any type of birth control pill will be 98-99% effective in preventing pregnancy IF taken correctly!. This means taking the pill at the same time every single day and not missing any pills!. Not as easy as it sounds!.!.!. I have to set an alarm on my phone to remind me to take my pill every day!.

I think just about any pill will help with acne!. But it may not be the best option for acne!. I mean it can help but it may not get rid of it!. It's definitely something to talk to your doctor about!.

As for your mom, honesty is always the best policy!. Moms are always concerned about what will happen when their baby girls go on the pill, like it's a magical slut pill!. It's not! Remind her that your primary objective is keeping your skin beautiful and that you're not sexually active now!. But just in case you get carried away or make a mistake, it will help protect you from pregnancy (but NOT STDs)!.

Hope this helps!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Birth control pills can help with acne yes, but I think your doctor would prefer you to be a bit older!. If you talk to your mother about it & she goes to the doctor with you, however, you might have a better chance!.

It's a more extreme treatment for acne, especially since your so young!. There are a variety of creams & facewashes on the market to help with spots etc, so any one of them could help you!. However, you won't ever be spot-free, even with the birth control, so the best thing to do is just to wait it out I'm afraid!. Changes in your diet can help too!.

Taking birth control every day can be a nuisance & if you end up missing a few & that "spur of the moment sex" happens - you're buggered basically!.

Should you ever have sex on the spur of the moment, try to remember to use a condom!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
