yep, its perfectly acceptable to do this!. Sometimes the contraceptive pill can be rendered ineffective if you've been taking antibiotics or even if you just miss one pill it can be less effective!.

If you call NHS direct they should be able to tell you which pharmacies around you give it free of charge in your area that are open today otherwise visit you local Walk in centre, might be a bit of a wait but with emergency contraception the sooner the better!. Its 95% effective if taken in the first 24 hours after sexual intercourse dipping to something like 50% effective if taken nearer the 72 hour cut off point!.

The copper coil is also and excellent emergency contraceptive and can be fitted up to 5 day after the incident and can stay in for up to 5 years afterwards!. Maybe worth a thought!.
