I don't get how people are saying you should wear a tampon!! I wore a pad today, and it didn't leak at all!! All you have to do is put the pad on ur leo, then put ur tights over ur leo, and then put shorts over!. Hope you take my advice!!! =)Www@Answer-Health@Com

I was exactly like you!. Except I had a performance the next day!.!.!.well anyways, don't worry about it!. I was too scared to use tampons too so for my first 2 years, i used pads the whole time!. Just makes sure you change it to a new one right before!. Instead of putting the pad on your tights or leotard, put it on you!. sounds really weird i know, but take the pad and put it on where it would be if you normally used a pad!. then put on your tights so that the sticky side of the pad sticks on to the tights where it naturally sticks!. (warning: in order for it to stay, you have to give yourself a wedgie with it!. if you've been wearing thongs, then it won't be uncomfortable) but seriously, try tampons! they're amazing for dancers!!!!!! i mean, we're almost adults now so no more diapers/pads!. go for tampons~Www@Answer-Health@Com

try to use a tampon, and wear a pantyliner with your tampon as a backup!. it'll take you awhile to figure out what level of tampon to use when, but even if you use too low of a level i doubt that as long as you use a pantyliner you will have any leakage problems!.

when i was your age, i danced as well and i wore pads the entire time, so if you absolutely don't want to wear tampons, then don't worry! just make sure you're using a longer pad to give you more coverage since you'll be moving around!. also, if your dance instructor is a woman, let her know and ask if you can wear shorts over your leotard just this once!. it'll help you feel a lot more comfortable!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I would use a tampon, just because if you lift your legs up high, the pad can slip and you could leak!. If possible, tomorrow wear dark colors instead of light ones (black leotard, black tights!?) in case you DO leak!.

Tell your mom or your sister or something that you're scared!.!.!.it's okay, but tampons are SUPER helpful because you can move everywhere and you won't leak!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

a pad in ballet!? you can try it!. use a fresh one right before class and choose one that is the right size and thickness for your level of bleeding!. you should not leak with a pad if class is an hour or less!. my suggestion is to try tampons!. the ob ones are small and not as scary, but they don't have an applicator (which makes things way easier)!. I did tap, ballet and jazz when I was your age and there is nothing to worry about!. You won't leak and remember to wear your darker leotards when it's that time of the month!. Eventually you'll use tampons with a pantyliner to make sure no mishaps happen!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Why don't you want to use tampons!? They do not hurt or anything!. They are a lot more comfortable, especially for sports!.

Talk to your mom - she can help you understand how to insert them, and once they are in, you don't even notice it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

congrats! :)
and i'd suggest wearing black tights, if you have them, just in case!.
and there's not really any way to tell if it'll be heavy or if you'll leak!.
since it's your first, it's best to be prepared :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Your Mom knows exactly what will work best with your dance outfit!. Let her pick out your pads and you'll be fine!.

You're body will only let out about 2 grams of blood at a time, The pad holds about 10 grams!.

Good luck at Ballet!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Just too be sure put a new one on before you go, maybe even 2!.Or get the ones that are thick and wide!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
