Why does my tampon get stuck?!

Question: Why does my tampon get stuck!?
It's my first time using it (i'm tired of pads and leakage) and so far i've unsuccessfully used 3 tampons and two of them have gotten stuck and i had to take a couple minutes to get it back out without hurting myself!.

what am i doing wrong and why wont the tampon expand inside!? i know the tampon works because once i drop it in the toilet it expands perfectly!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

hey, i think i can help but it may be a little graphic!

Since you are new to tampons you are nervous, when you get nervous your vagina does too!.!.!.it clenches up tight!.!.!.this makes it hard to insert anything into it!.

Choose a small size, you can get "lights" or "regular" sized tampons!. Choose ones with an applicator to begin!. buy some KY jelly!. read the instructions!. before you start wash your hands and relax, lubricate the tampon applicator, this will help ensure it goes in far enough, when it is in correctly you should not be able to feel it!.

Once the tampon is in, do not try to pull it out straight away, it will be dry and painful, this is normal!. As blood flows down onto it, it will absorb the flow and swell to fit your body shape, leave it 3-4 hours or sooner if you get leakage (panty liners r a great help til you get usd to managing yr own flow and what size tampon you need), when you remove it, relax, pull gently on the cord, if there is much resistance leave it a while longer, it should slide out easily and without pain!!

remember to read about toxic shock syndrome

Good luck, its like every new skill we learn, it just takes time Www@Answer-Health@Com

I must agree!. The reason your tampon isn't expanding is because you most likely aren't leaving it in long enough, or you're using the wrong absorbency!. Check it out in the little pamphlet that comes with the tampons!. I wear mine for 4-6 hours!. Remember to change your absorbency depending on which day you're on and on your flow!. If you're leaking from your pads, then there's most likely enough blood for the tampon to fill itself!.!.!. you just have to be patient!. Also, since it's your first period using them, then just make sure you relax!. This may be hard, but just sit down!.!.!. pull out slow while making sure that you're lax down there!.

Hope I've been helpful :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

hmm!.!. what brand are you using!? You might try o!.b!. tampons because I've always had good luck with them!. I use the kind with no applicator, and they seem to expand especially well!.!.!. but they also make them with an applicator!.!.!.

This sounds kind of bad, but if you are a virgin you might still be rather tight there, and you are also unused to wearing tampons!. I think it will get easier for you with time, and they are definitely more comfortable than pads!Www@Answer-Health@Com

You should leave the tampon in for a while to allow it to soak up the leakage!.!. !.otherwise, it will be very dry inside and taking it out feels like carpet burn! Ahh what an annoying pain! If you get it stuck half way you can always dab vaseline around your vagina to allow for it to slide more easily!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

have you been taking it out too quickly!? if you dont leave it in for at least a couple of hours, there wont be enough blood on it and it will take time to take out and will be painful!.

my advice to you is, put it in and leave it for about 3 hours!. you will find that it will fill up with blood which will make it expand, and it will come out quickly, smoothly and painlessly!

good luck!

ok well either your not leaving it in long enough or the tampon might not be the right size!. your just have to measure depending on how heavy your flow is!. if it lit make sure your get lite tampons and you might also be sitting in a un comforable way!. make sure your relaxed and conforable with the way your body is positioned!.that would help!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i may be wrong!. but it sounds to me like you arent leaving the tampon in long enough for enough blood to get on it to make it expand!. you should wear a tampon over like 3-4 hours, but make sure your not changing like every often because that could make it hard for it to come out!
good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

you probably have the wrong absorbency for you and Do not EVER flush tampons they will clog the toilet and that is sooooo embarrassing when they have to send a long metal snake to grab the stuff that is clogging
i hope this helped

Make sure your using the correct absorbancy!. Lilets do a box that have a selection so that during your period you can choose the right oneWww@Answer-Health@Com

you need to relax more and make sure that theyve had enough time to fill up, if ur not sure use a lower abosrbing level
