First of all, you should always be sensitive with your friend about that because is something that I think would make anyone uncomfortable especially if you're a female!. Secondly, I know that anytime you shave hair in any part of your body the hair that comes out later is thicker and darker then the one previously there!. I think it is always better to wax then shave, when you wax,and the more you wax, the hair comes out thinner and thinner !. A good advice is to dye your arm hair!. They have dye for the hair at your arms at any regular Rite aid or CVS pharmacy, and it works really good, because in addition to making the hair lighter in color it also makes it look thinner and blend in more so that your arms don't really look awkwardly naked but just normally more feminine and still natural!. Hope I helped!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Lots of people shave their arms and it doesn't grow back any thicker than it was!.

If our hair DID grow back thicker and darker, wouldn't that mean that everytime we cut our hair, it would grow back thicker!?

Nothing will happen!. However, your arms get prickly if you don't shave them frequently, just like leg hair!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

lol no, that's an old wives tale, like most are!.

I am 25 years old, and have been shaving my arms since I was 14, because like you friend, I had hairy a!.ss arms!.

The hair comes in the same, but I never let it grow out too much, as I shave them once a week!. It takes like 2 mins tops for both arms, as most the hair is from the wrist to the elbow, elbow up is just fine baby hair!.

Tell her to go for it, sooo much more lady like!. :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

it falls on the floor

no seriously!.!.!.it grows back!. so!.!.then its time to shave or wax or nair it again!.
its no problem, no big deal
and it IS a good idea!.

(well unless she really does want guy arms, then !.!.!.oh well to each their own!.!.but-it'll be more femoinine and nice to have rid of it!.!.Tell her how much better her jewelry will look (buy her a bracelet to force the issue if you want

*(( btw, it's just a myth that the hair will grow back coarser and faster if you shave it!. Thats not true!. It will just grow back to the same way it is now!.))Www@Answer-Health@Com

You're going to get answers both ways!. I am a hairy girl and I've done a lot of research and tried just about everything, for what its worth!.

It will NOT grow back thicker or darker!. When hair first grows in (stubble) the edge is curved which makes it appear darker and more coarse!. But it will grow out to be exactly the same as the hair that was originally there!. I've shaved it, waxed it, naired, it!.!.!.all the same result!.

I used an epilady on my arms for a couple months before my wedding but got tired of the upkeep and now it looks exactly like it did before!. One day I'll save up for laser hair removal but until then, I have ape arms!. ;)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Since she already has dark hair on her arms I would NOT shave them but instead wax them!. Waxing makes the hair grow back softer, thinner, and less noticeable!. Its really worth it trust me!. When you shave anything your just cutting off the hair at the surface of the skin instead of getting the WHOLE hair and root! Just tell her you want to help her and possibly make her more confident :)

Good Luck Www@Answer-Health@Com

I know that people say that it's not true that if you shave hair someplace on your body it grows back thicker and pricklier!. But it DOES! Trust me! And then she'll be stuck having to shave it off ALL THE TIME just like leg hair or she'll have stubble!. I'm sure her bf or hubby wouldn't like to have to deal with prickly arms anytime he wants to hug her or hold her hand!. Gross!. Leave her alone!. A lot of soft fuzzy hair is better than a little bit of short prickly hair!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

My daughter has been shaving her arms since she was in the 4th grade!. It's fine, and she's much happier!. Kids really used to make fun of her and now they don't! She never lets it get long at all, she shaves it all the time so I'm not sure what it would grow back in like!.

Probably darker and coarser!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Why pick on your friend for her gorilla arms!? What are you perfect!? Leave her alone, how about that!

If people make fun of her arms, you should be sticking up for her, not telling her how to torture herself into someone else's ideal!.

Don't shave, wax or anything!.!.!.And stand up for your friend!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It doesn't grow back black unless it was originally!. But it will be prickly when it grows in just like all other hair is!. How about suggesting a wax!? It will hurt, but it will last longer and will grow in with fine hair rather than course and stubbly!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It will grow back prickly at first because of it's short length, and also it's highly likely that hair will grow in darker!. Waxing is probably best solution, or if it's a real bugbear maybe laser hair removal!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes!. Any hair shaved off your body grows back darker and thicker, and before it's grown out again, prickly!.

She'll have to deal with the hair, or bleach it, but that may look bad!. Depends!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Normally it just grows back slightly darker, nothing significant and nothing that shouldn't be fixed by just shaving it again!. =)

if you SHAVE it, yes - however, if you WAX it (which is kinda painful sometimes), it's not nearly as bad!.!.!.Nair may also be an effective (and less painful) alternative!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It will grow back prickly if she shaves!. If she has too much noticeable arm hair, I recommend she waxes it off and not shave it!. If she waxes it will grow back softer and not so prickly as shaving!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

why are you concerned with your friends apperance!. umm the hair leaves but theres still folecules which means theres still hair imagine cutting a tree/!.!. you stil have its roots that you cannot get!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

lather up and shave
cut the hair with scissors
use a hair cutting trimmer to cut it off!. it works!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think the hair will grow back, both thicker and darker!. And it might even lead to ingrown hairs, but I haven't tried myself so I don't know :/Www@Answer-Health@Com
