Purposely skipping my period?!

Question: Purposely skipping my period!?
Okay so I know lots of people ask similar questions, I've looked at previously asked questions but none seem to get the answers I'm looking for!.

I've been on the pill for about 7 months now, I'm on Alesse so it's a relatively low dosage pill!. Halloween is coming up in the week I would get my period, but I'm supposed to go to a big Halloween party and sleep over at my friend's house, so having my period is really an inconvenience (especially since it would be at its heaviest around that day)!. I've never used the pill to skip my period before, but I'm dreading my period so much now that I'm considering it!.

Don't tell me it will "hurt" me, that's not true!. The bleeding you get on the pill is technically only withdrawl bleeding, not your period (I've taken human sexuality in university and talked to my prof, a sexologist about it)!. What I want to know is, can I delay my period for about a week!? (just take the first week of pills in the new pack, get my period, then take the next two weeks of pills and get my period again) Or do I have to take the whole pack, thereby delaying my period for another month!?

Has anyone on Alesse tried this!? I am paranoid about trying it but then experiencing breakthrough bleeding and feeling like I wasted my time!.

Answers:
It won't hurt you! The people that say it will are just uneducated! As long as the pills are all the same colour (some brands have different doses each week therefore colour co-ordinated), all you do is start a new pack as if your period already came!. So if you finish your pack on sunday, start a new one monday!. You shouldn't have any trouble, but sometimes you may experience a tiny bit of spotting!. Good luck : )Www@Answer-Health@Com
