Question: Birth control and antibiotics!?
i ahve been on birth control for about a year now and me and my boyfriend ususally dont use any other protection but that, and it's always been fine
i know i should use a condom
well we had sex and the next day i went to the doctor and was put on antibiotics for a cough, and i know that they affect birth control!.
im really scared and want to know if i was on birth control the night we had sex what are my chances im pregnant because i know sperm live in the body for up to 5 days
its too late for the EC because the sex happened a little less than 72 hours ago

you chances are still pretty slim, sure antibiotics will reduce the effectiveness of birth control but it won't cancel it out completely!. Just keep an eye on your menstrual cycle and make sure you start your next cycle and everything is normalWww@Answer-Health@Com
If I were you I wouldn't worry!. I never knew about the 5 days in your body!. I was put on antibiotics a few times while on birth control and we just don't have intercourse while i'm on it!. We have the day before and nothing has ever happened!. Worry only if you find out your pregnant!. Meanwhile don't aggravate yourself!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Many studies are finding that antibiotics don't affect the pill as much as previously thought!. As long as you continued to take the pill correctly you should be fine!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
