Oh yeah, there are many!. The most common ones are weight gain, acne, mood swings, depression, anxiety, increased!.decreased breast size, decreased sex drive, headaches, irregular bleeding and naseua!. I was on the Depo shot and I think I had all of those besides weight gain, acne, and the boob thing, unfortunately!. I hated hormonal birth control, I am very sensitive to it, I will get REALLY irritable, like I would be annoyed at tiny things ALL day long, had headaches all day everyday and lost my sex drive, spotted the whole year I was on it too!. Wasn't worth it for me, it ruined that year of my life, I got off it and am now WAAAY better and am no longer threatening my relationship with my boyfriend with constant irrritability!. There are more serious side effects as well that are rare but DO happen and those include blood clot, heart attack and stroke, and don't think this only happens to old women who smoke, it happens to young, healthy women who have only been on the pill for a few months!. Very rare, but it still happens!. Also, some women report growing more facial hair while taking synthetic hormones!. Stick with condoms, putting man made hormones into your body is bad for you, but I understand why some women do it, they don't understand the risks and the stupid little side effects that could SEROUSLY impact their lives, and there's hardly any choices out there for us unfortunately!. I would never take them again, but I am sensitive to them, some women have no side effects or feel that the ones they DO experience are worth the benefits of the birth control, not for me though!. I don't know about your specific prescription but the two times I was on the pill I was very moody and honestly, immediately depressed!. (My husband was there for both experiences and I am lucky he's still here)
The first time I took it I spent the better half of a month in a dark bath room with candles lit and crying!. Then after I had my second child I tried Allesse and I felt more depression (and even had thoughts of tossing a crying baby down the stairs)!.!.!.So I linked the two and decided that non-hormonal treatment was the best for me!. Once I realized the connection to crying-heap-on-bathroom-floor and baby-tossing-lunatic I stopped taking anything and started using my monthly calendar and condoms as birth control instead!.!.!.I now have a 5yo 100% breastfed child to thank for my insanity!Www@Answer-Health@Com
