sweetie take a deep breath, you will be fine, first what you need to do is get a thicker pad so it won't go through and make sure you get ones with wings trust me it will be the best thing you ever did!. also if you happen to get blood on your underwear you can soak them in cold water for a while it helps take out the stain!. you just need to ask your mom, older sister/cousin or aunt to help you get some more pads,!. trust me when i first asked my mom she was so happy because you are growing into a woman!. no no one can smell anything,!. you can smell yourself like 10 times more than anyone else!. just make sure to change your pad frequently try like every other time you use the restroom!. you might have a heavy period for the first year or so it also depends on your mother and her mother how their periods were!. what you can do to make your periods a bit lighter is start taking ibprophen like a day or two before you start it helps with cramps and it help clot the blood a bit more!.

you should talk about this with your girlfriends and or mom or older girl relative they should help you through this transition time!.

on last thing every woman and girl will go through this and you should not be embaressed or shy about this

When you are young your period tends to be heavier!. Change your pads more often then you have been, and try the scented kind if you are worried about that!.

Tampons are a complete LIFE SAVER!. Many women find them to be much more comfortable and easier to use than a pad!. You can't even feel them when inserted correctly verses how a pad feels like a diaper!.

Congrats young woman!Www@Answer-Health@Com

ok first calm down!. all girls are disgusted at first!. at least i was!. I can smell mine too but it does not smell like that lol!. and You should change it whenever you want it doesnt matter with pads!. I didnt want to try tampons either i thought it was embarrasing but trust me!. Theres no mess you wont smell it, and you can wear panty liners too so if it leaks then it wont get on your underwear!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

when I first got mine, (I was 9 or 10, and the only one I knew who had it,) I had to change my pad every hour!. I soon learned that the best thing to do was wear the right type of pad!. It's different for everyone of course, but the right pad for me is an overnight pad, and still change it every couple of hours!. I have to wear two them at night!.

Try one, it might work!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

okay go to the drugstore and get the always pads, they come with a little wipe that smells really good and its attached to the outside of the pad so wen u go to the bathroom u can clean ureself better change it as much as u think u need to but probably on bad days 2-5 hours and on good like 3-6 maybe even 7 anyways good luck and dont stresss =]Www@Answer-Health@Com

It boggles my mine how you think tampons are gross and pads aren't!. But that's beside the point!.

Change your pad every 3-6 hours, or sooner, if needed!. While you get used to your period, check your pad every half hour or so, just to be sure you're not leaking through!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It is normal that its kinda stinky that happeneds to every girl!. As for you bleeding through your pad maybe your not changing it ofetn enough!? your supposed to change it every 4 to 6 hours!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

its ok, just switch out pads more often, when they get really wet!. help me with mine!?

http://au!.answers!.yahoo!.com/question/ind!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

um you definatly dont wanna wear a pad or tampon for over 8 hours!. but thicker pads and you really need to try tampons, it'll help the smell and bleeding throughWww@Answer-Health@Com

Chill out, everything you listed is totally normal!. I agree with the first person though about the pads and tampons thing, I feel like I'm wearing a diaper or somethin with a pad LOL!.!.!.

Change your pad every 3-6 hours in general, but if you feel like you are bleeding a lot change it every 2-4 just to be safe!. Get used to the blood because your period doesn't care if you hate it or not, it's coming anyway!. Smell is normal, it's probably more in your head than you think!.

Also, talk to your mom!. She will help you out I promise!. My mom died when I was 10 and I got my period in the middle of Alaska on a road trip at a port-a-pottie on the side of the road in the absolute middle of nowhere with just my dad and little brother, now that is really embarrassing!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Welcome to woman hood!

There are a lot of different sizes of pads!. It sounds like you have heavy periods!. If the blood is getting on the side of your panties, you might try pads with wings!. If it's getting off the front or back, try using a longer thicker pad and changing it more often!. Using a tampon won't be very helpful for you if you are bleeding that much!. Definitely change your pad every time you go to the bathroom, but go more often if it's leaking on your panties!. The smell is part of being a woman!.

If you continue to have really heavy periods and especially if you have lots of cramping, talk with your doctor!. You may need to start on birth control pills to control your flow!. If you bleed too much it will make you anemic!. You'll be tired, and weak!. You may feel like you don't think well or function as well!. You may get short of breath easily, and your legs might feel like rubber bands if you climb stairs or walk very far!. That is the result of bleeding "way too much!." That is helped with iron supplements but helped even more with the pill!.

Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

if you're not comfortable with tampons, don't worry!. That'll come when you're older!. I'm 39 and I will only use them if I am going swimming!.

change your pad every 3 hours or so if you just have a regular flow but if it's really heavy like you're describing then you may need to change it every 1-2 hours!. You may even want to try super absorbant pads!. Yes, it does smell and other people can notice it, at least I think so, and that's why you need to change your pad frequently !. You should also have a bath every day when you're menstruating to thoroughly clean yourself!.

If you're running out of panties, just handwash some!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You may need to purchase more robust pads if the ones you are using are not absorbing the blood adequately!.

I would suggest buying some 'heavy' pads and changing them every hour until you work out how regularly you need to change them!. I wouldn't recommend leaving a pad in for longer than 4 hours as this can cause bacteria grow in the pad and can lead to infection!.

When my period was heavy I used to wear two pairs of underwear just for the security of knowing it was unlikely to leak!. This may seem silly but it felt more comfortable to have that extra layer!.

As for the smell!. I guess it is normal to have a little odour but it shouldn't be as strong as you are describing!. Maybe you need to change your pads more regularly and if you are at home, I'd recommend washing the area with a wet tissue or something to make sure you are keeping as clean as possible!. You can buy specific wipes in a pack that are for this purpose and it helps keep everything fresh and clean!.

If this period you are experiencing is not normal to you and it is much heavier and smells more than usual then go and see a Doctor!.

Good LuckWww@Answer-Health@Com
