The IUD is a good option, I have a copper IUD and I LOVE it, I know I won't have to suffer crappy hormonal side effects with it because it is hormone free!. Depending on who you are and how your body reacts to it, each women will respond differently to the two types of IUD's!. I'll just give you some info about both and some pros and cons!. The Paragard copper IUD pros are that it is more effective than the pill contains NO hormones(so no serious risks with it like blood clot, heart attack, stroke, and also no risk of stupid hormonal birth control side effects like weight gain, acne, moodiness, headaches, naseua, loss of sex drive etc!.) the copper IUD also can be left in for TEN years!. The disadvantage to it is that it may cause heavier, more painful periods, also, if you have a copper allergy, you definitely should not use this one!. A complaint with both IUD's is that the womans partner can feel the strings occasionally, and that's fairly normal and let's you know the IUD is still there!. Some women(like me) would trade the heavier periods and more painful cramps for not having hormonal side effects and risks, and some wouldn't!. And not all women experience that side effect with it either
The Mirena IUD contains a hormone known a progestin and is a little more effective than the copper IUD!. It can be left in for five years!. The advantages to this method are the effectiveness, and that it may shorten, lighten, or ever rid you of your periods, and a lot of women like that about it!. Some women complain or hormonal BC side effects like weight gain acne, moodiness, loss of sex drive, headaches, even hair loss, but again, not all women will experience all of those side effects, and some won't have any!. If you are sensitive to hormones, I would suggest NOT to get the Mirena, even if your doctor claims that the hormones in it are small and localized so that they shouldn't cause problems, because I have heard of PLENTY of women that suffer side effects from this one!.
Insertion is going to be equally as painful for either IUD, I have had a baby so mine was uncomfortable but hardly painful, it only took a few minutes and the cramps I had afterwards hurt worse than the actual insertion!. Those lasted for a day or two, but luckily I had vicodin left over from oral surgery that I took and that took care of the cramps!. I have had the IUD for about three months and am still spotting and occasionally get random cramps, but they are faint and don't last very long, nothing really to complain about!. Now with either IUD there is a six month to a year adjustment period in which you will likely experience irregular bleeding which includes anything from constant spotting to having three light periods in a month to having two heavy, long periods in one month, to having a late period!. So that's what happens generall in the first six months, but if you can tough that out, the IUD is a great thing to have!. And since you have already had a baby, the insertion shouldn't be too bad, I felt a little faint after I got home from mine and had to lay down in the middle of the floor for a few mintues, so have someone drive you home and probably take the day off from work or anything really so you can just lay around if you need to!. It's different though for every women, some find it excruciating and some think it's nothing!. But it's worth it!. I know I gave you more than you wanted, I just wanted you to know that you had two IUD options so that you can find which one is right for you!. Here is a good IUD website I went to a lot before I got mine, it has a lot of personal experience stories and you;ll find a lot of insertion stories too!.

First Mirena is an IUC!. It is different because it sits in your uterus and releases, well basically birth control, in your uterus!.
They have a website!. www!.mirena!.com
I say try it!. It lasts for 5 years!. If you have had a baby it shouldnt hurt much or at all when it is in place!. It is suppose to be better than birth control pills or even having tubes tied and mirena is reversible!. If it is taken out you can have kids asap again!. Try it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

don't trust all these new birth control methods, because 3/4 of them get pulled off the market within 6 months!. the FDA pushes these things through so fast that they aren't fully tested for side effects!. then they pull them off the market because women start dying because their birth control didn't work right and they had a heart attack or massive stroke!. also, any of these birth control methods that require things to be placed in your body, for example mirena or the ring or having your tubes pinched shut with plastic clips (can't think of what the procedure is called) SEVERELY increases your risk for cervical, ovarian, and uteran cancers and cysts!. do some research and talk to a few doctors!. but keep in mind that most doctors are trying to sell you these things!. so get second and third opinions!.
if all else fails, you can also always use condoms!. my wife and I have used them for years without fail!.
good luck!.

P!.S!. you need to use condoms properly!. i!.e!. put them on all the way, and take them off IMMEDIATELY after ejaculation, before he loses his erection!. if the condom breaks, you can get Plan B over the counter now!. use that if your condom fails!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
