Is it bad to take your pill about 3 hours late?!

Question: Is it bad to take your pill about 3 hours late!?
I'm on the pill and i take it at 6!.30pm every day!. Thing is i've just got a part time job, and many of the hours last from say, 12 - 9!.30 pm!.!.

I've got an alarm on my phone to remind me so when i finish i could just check and see the missed alarm then take it!. Problem is, is it a bad thing to take my pill 3 hours later than usual!? Should i change to taking it earlier like say in the morning!? And if i do, do i have to make the change gradual!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
No, you can take your pill up to 12 hours later than usual!. If you miss this, you just take the next pill as soon as you realise, then use condoms for the next 7 days if you have sex!.

That said, it's always worth checking the information leaflet in your pill packet, just in case!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

No, it's not a big deal to take the pill three hours off!. You can simply choose a new time to take it, and make the swap if you prefer!. The body itself doesn't even release hormones naturally on such an exact schedule!. Pick a time that works for you, and try to stick with that!. The whole time thing is more about memory, so you will actually make it a habit to take one a day!. Your body doesn't particularly care when you take it, as long as it's once a day!. You don't have an ovary down there chomping for a chance to ovulate!. So if you want to simply switch times, do it that way!. Or wait until you finish the pack and start the new one at the new chosen time!. It really doesn't matter, as long as there is one per day!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Three hours could make a difference!. Especialy if it's the minipill!. But even if it's a combination pill, the pill works by suppressing ovulation and changing cervical mucous (only changing the mucous if it's the minipill)!. If you miss your pill, you're chancing ovulation!. Usually if you're only late on one pill and take it within 24 hours, if you had ovulated, it would suppress/change the progesterone levels so you couldn't maintain lutenous (the stage after ovulation where the egg is fertile)!. However, if this is a constant thing, the hormones are going to be very messed up and god only knows that will happen!.

I'd change the time you take it to a time when you're always free!. If there is no such time, you should consider something like the patch!. If you're going to change your time, you might as well do it all at once because once you start changing your cycle, you have to wait at least a week before you're protected again no matter how you do it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Three hours is not going to make the pill any less effective!.

I take mine first thing in the morning!. But I have to take medicine for my stomach before I eat anything so I just take it all at once!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

3 hours is not going to make a difference!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
