Can I have a colposcopy when I'm on my period?!

Question: Can I have a colposcopy when I'm on my period!?
!.!.!.And if not, why is that!?

I've got an appointment for a colposcopy tomorrow morning but my period has just started this evening!. It won't be heavy (mine never are since going on the Pill) but I'm not sure if it's ok to go ahead, and can't find the information they gave me the first time I went!.

Please advise!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
No!. I would not get one!.!.!.Your cervical cells are not in their normal state when you're on your period!. You wouldn't see a gyno if you're on your period, either, because it's more than about just the messiness and blood - you can't make an accurate determination about the vaginal cells while you're menstruating!. I wuld reschedule your colposcopy for a week after your period ends!. Plus, a colposcopy can be very uncomfortable and add to your period's discomfort!.
Hope it turns out ok!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Nattitude - it's a Colposcopy, not a Colonoscopy! lol - that means it's in the uterus not the anus!.

I would say ring in the morning and see what they say, if it's not that heavy I expect they would say to still go ahead with it, but I'm not 100% :) xWww@Answer-Health@Com

Yes it is fine!. I would wear a tampon though since you will be undressed from the waist down!. They are going in the butt and if they go elsewhere, then we have a problem!. Make sure they knock you out, the pressure is awful!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

you need to change the appt!.!.they are not going to be able to see anything with the blood in the way !.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Call the doctor's office and ask!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
