okay im 19 years old and i use depo provera!.!. ive been with my boyfriend for 3 years and lately ive been having a weird acidic sickly feeling in my stomach at night time!.!. its the feeling of when you've been awake all night really or havent eaten!.!.!. and neither of those are going on!. i am also putting an immense amount of weight on in a really short space of time!. my stomach looks huge!. i was 10st 5 normally and at the minute i am 11st 7! :( it's not that noticable apart from my stomach area!. i took a pregnancy test a month ago just to make sure and that came back negative!.!. its just hard to know if you are when you never get periods!. does it sound like i'm pregnant or putting on weight from the depo!? any help would be great!. thanks xWww@Answer-Health@Com

Its the depo!. Its fools your body into thinking you're pregnant, which is what causes you to feel all of those weird nauseous and hormonal things!. I started depo when I was 20 years old and 125lbs!. I had my first shot in August and by January after my 2nd shot I had gained 40lbs!!!! Its not really something that you can get used to, always wondering if you're really sick or preggers or if its just the shot!. I would definately go to a doctor to rule out pregnancy!.
I never gained weight on Depo, I actually lost it for some reason!. For the record, I never had any problems with Depo, it's a love/hate thing with people!.!.!.they either have the greatest luck (me) or the worst!.!.!.!.

I hate the depo and I don't think it's good for women!. I wouldn't be surprised if in the next 5 or 10 years it's taken off the market completely!. If F's up your body and it's natural cycle!. I would find a birth control (like the pill) that works well with your body!. If you're taking the shot because you don't like having a period, keep in mind your body has one for a reason!. There are pills out there, like yaz, where your period is shortened and only lasts 4 days or less!. Sorry if you're not liking your body right now!. I'd get off that nasty shot ASAP though!Www@Answer-Health@Com
