Please no horrible, judgemental answers here...?!

Question: Please no horrible, judgemental answers here!.!.!.!?
Ok, i'm 18 years old, female and two nights ago i had unprotected sex with my ex boyfriend!. He was the guy i lost my virginity to (although i've had another boyfriend since) but we just got together on Halloween!.

I took the morning after pill today (about 36 hours after)!. My friend (she's a bit older) was telling me how she's going to get STI checks sometime soon and was encouraging me to go with her to get myself checked out!. After a lot of persuasion (i was saying no to start with because i was scared) i agree it's a very good idea because i know my ex's sexual history and he's been getting around a bit!. So we are going tomorrow!.!.!.she's been before but im terrifiied!. I hope i actually make it in!.!.

So basically we had anal sex aswell (i wish i could describe how disgusted i am about this-i was always against the whole idea but he just went for it and i stuck it out for a short while before stopping him out of pain)!.

Anyway what will be done during this test!? I don't want to say about the anal (makes me feel sick at the thought of it) so would that make a difference!?

Basically what exactly can i expect!? Does it hurt!? Is it awkward!?

Thank you!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well the checks I've had have either been via a blood test or a cervical smear!. With the smear (and you need to have one at least every couple of years after you start having sex anyway - it detects cervical cancer early and every woman needs to have smears regularly I'm afraid), you lie down on the bed with your panties off and a towel usually draped over you down there!. My doctor gets me to draw my knees up so my legs are bent, then pushes my knees apart and inserts a plastic speculum into my vagina (it's ok, just feels a bit weird)!. She then opens up the speculum and my vagina as a result - this can feel a bit uncomfortable but the trick is to relax all your muscles as the more tense you are the more uncomfortable it gets!. Take some deep breaths and concentrate on either looking at the ceiling,or talking about a recent holiday (they often ask you dumb questions to take your mind off it! :-) ) or both!. The Dr will then take a large cotton bud/Q tip and swab the inside of you and rub it onto a slide (this gets sent away for analysis)!. Then she'll unwind the speculum and slip it out!. you'll be able to get changed in privacy then!. She'll usually also put some lube on the speculum so that it slips in and out easily - you may have to borrow tissues (they'll show you where they are - they're usually right by the bed for you) and wipe yourself clean "down there"!. The bin's usually right there too!. Then you're all done - takes about 3 minutes or so - and then you can run away and not have it done for another couple of years or unless you really need it!

I actually would mention the unprotected anal sex!. They've heard it ALL, trust me - this would be pretty normal to them compared to some of the stuff they'll hear, trust me! It's best that they have all the info - they can then treat you properly!. And they're totally professional and discrete - no one else will know!.

And I would stay well away from that guy - if he's making you do things that disgust you, he's abusing you!. That's not a guy that loves you!. I went through my fair share of bast***s like that and it I know how it is - I also know i did the right thing deciding never to be mistreated again!. Now I have a lovely husband and it's the best sex ever!

Best of luck - everyone's nervous!. Waiting for the results is almost the worst bit but you're being mature and responsible doing this, so give yourself credit for it!. You're a strong smart woman and you'll go far if you keep users like your ex out of your life!. Go for it! Www@Answer-Health@Com

no idea, i should have got a clamydia test ages ago!
my family nurse did ask if i needed a home clamydia test though, for some reason i said no though, so you could try that!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Not sure but I think it is just a simple blood test!. They will take a test tube or two of blood and send it to a lab to be tested and you will get the results later!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Keeping it very clinical:

Blood screening
High vaginal swab
Rectal swab
Possibly urethral swab
Urine sampleWww@Answer-Health@Com

It's nowhere near as bad as you would expect sweetie!. These people do this every single day of their lifes so it's no big deal to them!. I wouldn't say it hurts, it's just uncomfortable, but it's so quick you don't even get chance to notice it!

You don't need to mention the anal sex you're just going to get tested so there's no need!. Unless you want to!.

Don't be disgusted about the anal sex either, if you didn't like it then at least you know now for the future!. It's all about experimenting ;0)

You'll be fine I promise and if you go with a friend it will be even less difficult!. Do something nice after so you have something to look forward to!. Best of luck! xxWww@Answer-Health@Com

It will not hurt!. It consists of a visual exam, cervical smear and and blood tests!. Since you had unprotected anal and vaginal sex you should tell this to the Doctor no matter how embarrassing it is!. It is of vital importance since that is one of the ways HIV can be transmitted!. Depending on his(or her) evaluation he/she may recommend a vaccination against certain STD threats!. Your doctor is not there to judge your actions but to help you!. You already know you should not have had unprotected sex as did your ex-boyfriend!. You may not like this suggestion or this answer!.!.!.!.!.!. but for your own protection!.!.!.!.!. judge the situation more carefully the next time!. and if need be !.!.!.!.!.!.!. say NO!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
