Answers:
You can start taking it the day you start your period, or on the Sunday following when you start your period!. No more than 7 days should pass between getting your period, and taking your first pill!. I know it doesn't quite make sense, but it works!. Just do it!.

For instance, if you get your period this Thursday, you can start taking it that very day--Thursday--or Friday, Saturday, or Sunday!. Start your period on Sunday!? Take it THAT day; don't wait a week!. The reason for taking it on different days, is that you can plan what day you get your period!. Starting on a Sunday means you'll start your period mid-week, and not on a weekend!. Cool, huh!?

This first time you go on it, USE CONDOMS WHEN YOU HAVE SEX DURING THE FIRST TWO WEEKS!. This is just a backup, but it's important!. Think: pill mess-up+no condom=baby!.

This first month will be the ONLY time that you take the Pill during your period!. For the rest of the time, you take it for three weeks and then skip one week, during which time you get your period!.

Now to your question, how does the Pill work!? It works by tricking your body into thinking it's already ovulated!. Taking the Pill imitates your hormone levels to that of post-ovulation!. Since your body thinks it's released an egg, it won't, ever release an egg, until you stop taking the Pill for more than 7 days!. No egg release=no conception=no pregnancy!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You start a new cycle each month when you start your period!. So start taking your first pill like you were told!. You take them for 21 or 28 days (if you are taking placebos)!. On the 22nd day -your body will react to the drop in hormone level - and signal for your period to start!. It may take 3-4 days(day 25-27) before you start your period!. On day 29 (regardless of whether your period is through or not) Start on your new pack of pills!. Try to take your pill about the same time daily(an hour or two off is OK) -I take mine at night(esp!. if they make you a little nauseous) Brush your teeth/take your pill/go to bed!. The trick is to get in a routine!. If you miss one -take it ASAP (but use condoms for the rest of the month) Also- use condoms as a back-up for the first 3 months - as it takes that long for your cycle to change (and you can get pregnant until it does- I know!!) The hormones in the bc pills prevent an egg from maturing and coming into the uterus (although the uterus lining is prepared) - that is why you still have a period on the pill!. But one change in hormone level - and an egg can be "dropped" - and fertilized!. Hope this helps - Www@Answer-Health@Com

You should have discussed this with your gyno!. You can probably do it over the phone!. You also shouldn't take advice about this stuff from people on the internet!. If they people on here were qualified to give medical advice like that, they probably wouldn't be on here!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The first time, you start the day your period starts!. At the end of that packet, you stop for a week, during that week you have your period and you start your next packet exactly a week later!. This is usually just after the period finishes!. You see!?Www@Answer-Health@Com
