Increase your Omega-3 (Salmon, Tuna, Nuts)
Eat plenty of green vegetables because they contain magnesium (muscle relaxant)
Increase potassium intake (milk, orange juice, avocados, bananas, dried apricots, and potatoes)
Exercising improves circulation, and releases endorphins which reduce the feeling of pain!. Another great thing about exercising while on your period is that sweating helps eliminate some of the water retention that you may experience while menstruating!.
Staying warm is also important; heat increases blood flow, and relaxes your muscles, which in turn alleviates cramps!.!.!.

While I'm on my period, I take 400-800mg of Ibuprofen, take a warm bath!.!.!.get out, run to my room and throw on warm clothes!. I like to relax while on my period, but what works for me may not necessarily work for you, so really it's kinda just trial and error of getting to know what your body reacts positively to!. It is very common for you to have a heightened appetite, especially for carbs, and chocolate!. Low serotonin levels cause your brain to crave carbohydrates!. whatever :) plain and simple, the imbalance of chemicals and hormones that occurs every time you menstruate can affect your mood, physical behavior, and overall comfort!. I used to loathe my time of the month heck, I still do, but I don't loathe them as much ever since I figured out what my body reacts to!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
